Team FOG Naestved Dominate Horsens IC in 101-73 Road Win

Horsens IC 73, Team FOG Naestved 101 — Team FOG Naestved produced one of the most emphatic results of the Danish Basketball League slate on September 27, 2026, rolling past Horsens IC 101-73 on the road. The visitors controlled the game from the opening minutes, turned defense into transition offense, and never allowed Horsens to settle into a comfortable half-court rhythm.

It was a complete performance for Naestved, who combined efficient shooting with aggressive perimeter defense and balanced scoring. Horsens, meanwhile, were left searching for answers after a poor shooting night and a turnover count that repeatedly handed momentum to the away side.

Match Overview

Naestved set the tone immediately, opening with a 10-0 run that silenced the home crowd. Horsens steadied briefly behind interior scoring, but Naestved’s pressure on the ball continued to create rushed possessions. By the end of the first quarter, the visitors led 27-18.

The second quarter followed a similar pattern. Naestved moved the ball sharply, attacked closeouts, and punished Horsens on the offensive glass. A late flurry of three-pointers stretched the lead to 52-37 at halftime. Horsens tried to respond in the third quarter with a more physical approach inside, cutting the deficit to 12 at one stage, but Naestved answered with a decisive 14-3 run to end the period ahead 77-55.

The fourth quarter was largely academic. Naestved’s bench maintained the intensity, and the lead ballooned beyond 30 points before the final buzzer confirmed a 101-73 victory.

Key Moments

• Opening 10-0 run: Naestved set the defensive tone early, forcing Horsens into three quick turnovers and converting them into easy transition points.
• Second-quarter shooting burst: Three consecutive three-pointers pushed the lead from nine to 18 and forced Horsens into a timeout.
• Third-quarter response: After Horsens trimmed the gap to 12, Naestved closed the quarter on a 14-3 run that effectively ended the contest.
• Fourth-quarter bench play: Naestved’s reserves kept the offense flowing and did not allow Horsens to build any late confidence.

Tactical Story

Naestved’s game plan was built on pressure and pace. They switched aggressively on screens, denied easy entry passes, and dared Horsens to beat them from the perimeter. When Horsens missed, Naestved pushed the ball immediately, often before the defense could set. That approach produced a high number of early offense opportunities and free throws.

Horsens struggled with decision-making against the press and half-court traps. Their half-court sets became predictable, with too many contested mid-range attempts and limited ball movement. Defensively, Horsens could not contain Naestved’s dribble penetration, which repeatedly collapsed the defense and opened up kick-out three-pointers.

Standout Performers

Naestved’s scoring was spread across the rotation, a sign of how well they shared the ball. Their lead guard controlled the tempo, repeatedly finding shooters in rhythm and big men rolling to the rim. The wing corps shot with confidence from beyond the arc, while the frontcourt battled on the boards to limit Horsens’ second-chance opportunities.

For Horsens, the center was the most consistent presence, scoring inside and drawing fouls, but he lacked enough support. The Horsens guards found little room to operate, and the team’s normally reliable shooters had an off night.

Danish Basketball League Standings Impact

The win strengthens Naestved’s position in the Danish Basketball League standings and gives them valuable road confidence early in the campaign. A 28-point victory away from home sends a message to the rest of the competition that Naestved can be a serious threat when their defense travels.

Horsens, on the other hand, will need to review their ball security and half-court execution. The result is a setback, but with plenty of fixtures remaining, they have time to correct course. Their next game becomes an important opportunity to respond and protect their home reputation.
