Svendborg Rabbits Beat Gladsaxe 92-70 in Danish Basketball League Clash

The Svendborg Rabbits produced a confident road performance on October 8, 2026, defeating Gladsaxe 92-70 in the Danish Basketball League. The 22-point victory was built on a decisive third-quarter run, balanced scoring, and a defensive effort that gradually took the home side out of its rhythm.

For Svendborg, the result strengthens their position in the Danish Basketball League standings and reinforces their reputation as one of the league’s more dangerous offensive teams. Gladsaxe, meanwhile, were left to reflect on a promising start that slipped away after halftime.

Match Overview

Gladsaxe began the game with energy and matched Svendborg early, using home-court advantage to attack the basket and keep the score close. The first quarter ended with Svendborg ahead 24-18, but the margin felt far from secure. Gladsaxe continued to compete in the second period, scoring 19 points, yet Svendborg’s efficient half-court execution allowed the visitors to maintain control at 45-37 by halftime.

The game turned in the third quarter. Svendborg tightened their defense, forced contested shots, and turned stops into transition opportunities. A 26-15 run in that period broke the game open and gave the Rabbits a commanding lead entering the final ten minutes.

• Second quarter: Svendborg Rabbits 21, Gladsaxe 19
• Third quarter: Svendborg Rabbits 26, Gladsaxe 15
• Fourth quarter: Svendborg Rabbits 21, Gladsaxe 18

Key Performers and Tactical Story

Svendborg’s backcourt controlled the tempo, pushing the ball when opportunities appeared and slowing the game down when Gladsaxe tried to mount a comeback. The Rabbits also won the rebounding battle, limiting second-chance points and forcing Gladsaxe into long, difficult possessions. Their ball movement was particularly effective in the third quarter, when several quick passes created open looks from the perimeter and at the rim.

Gladsaxe’s best moments came when they played through the paint and attacked the offensive glass. Their leading scorers kept them within reach in the first half, but the home side struggled to find consistent offense once Svendborg increased its defensive pressure. Turnovers and missed free throws in the second half made the comeback increasingly unlikely.

What the Result Means

For Svendborg Rabbits, the win is another positive step in the Danish Basketball League season and a reminder of their ability to close out games on the road. The Rabbits will look to carry the same defensive intensity into their next fixture as they chase a higher playoff seeding.

Gladsaxe remain a competitive side, but this result highlights the importance of sustaining execution for four quarters. They showed in the opening half that they can trade blows with strong opponents; the challenge now is avoiding the kind of scoring drought that decided this contest. In a league where standings can shift quickly, a response in the next game will be important.
