Plzeň, Czech Republic — Srsni Pisek left the Sportovní hala Lokomotiva with a hard-earned 88-81 road win over Lokomotiva Plzen in the Narodni Basketbalova Liga on September 28, 2026. The visitors trailed for much of the first half but seized control after the break, outscoring the home side 26-15 in the third quarter to flip the game and hand Plzen a frustrating home defeat.

Match Overview

Lokomotiva Plzen came out with energy, pushing the tempo early and finding success inside against Pisek’s half-court defense. A 10-2 run midway through the opening period gave the hosts a 22-18 lead after ten minutes, with their guards consistently beating the first line of defense off the dribble.

Pisek settled in during the second quarter. The visitors tightened their pick-and-roll coverage, forced Plzen into contested mid-range jumpers, and began to punish turnovers in transition. A late three-pointer before the buzzer trimmed the Plzen advantage to 43-41 at halftime, setting up a decisive third quarter.

That third period belonged almost entirely to Srsni Pisek. The visitors opened with a 12-2 burst, capped by back-to-back corner threes, and never looked back. Plzen’s offense stalled against a switched-up zone look, and by the time the home side adjusted, Pisek had built a double-digit cushion that proved insurmountable.

Key Moments

• First quarter, 4:12 remaining: Plzen’s Lukáš Král converted an and-one to spark a 10-2 run, giving the hosts their largest lead of the night at 18-10.
• Second quarter, 0:04 remaining: Pisek’s Jan Dvořák drilled a step-back three from the top of the key to cut the deficit to 43-41 at the break.
• Third quarter, 6:30 remaining: A steal-and-dunk by Pisek’s Petr Svoboda ignited a 12-2 run that turned a one-point deficit into a 55-46 lead.
• Fourth quarter, 1:12 remaining: Plzen cut the lead to 82-79 on a Martin Beneš three, but Pisek answered with six straight free throws to seal the win.

Tactical Story

Srsni Pisek’s defensive adjustment in the third quarter was the game’s defining tactical moment. After allowing Plzen to shoot 52% from the field in the first half, Pisek switched to a 1-3-1 zone that clogged the paint and dared the hosts to shoot from the perimeter. Plzen obliged, missing nine of its first eleven attempts from beyond the arc in the second half.

Offensively, Pisek leaned on its transition game. The visitors scored 18 fast-break points after halftime, repeatedly beating Plzen’s retreating defense down the floor. When the game slowed in the fourth quarter, Pisek’s half-court execution remained steady, with Dvořák and Svoboda combining for 17 of the team’s final 22 points.

Standout Players

• Jan Dvořák (Srsni Pisek): 24 points, 5 rebounds, 6 assists — the motor behind every key run, and a perfect 8-of-8 from the free-throw line in the fourth quarter.
• Petr Svoboda (Srsni Pisek): 18 points, 9 rebounds, 3 steals — dominant on the glass and a menace in transition.
• Lukáš Král (Lokomotiva Plzen): 21 points, 7 rebounds — kept Plzen within striking distance but ran out of help in the second half.
• Martin Beneš (Lokomotiva Plzen): 14 points, 4 assists — efficient early, but quiet after halftime as Pisek’s zone took away his driving lanes.

Season Impact

The victory lifts Srsni Pisek into the upper half of the early Narodni Basketbalova Liga standings and signals that the club can compete on the road against playoff-caliber opposition. For Lokomotiva Plzen, the loss is a missed opportunity to build momentum at home. The team’s perimeter shooting and late-game execution will be points of emphasis in the coming week as Plzen looks to bounce back in its next fixture.
