Palmer Basket delivered one of the most emphatic performances of the Copa del Rey de Baloncesto slate, dismantling Zamora 101-77 on October 21, 2026. The hosts crossed the 100-point mark with a fast, fluent offensive display and never allowed Zamora to settle into the game, turning a potentially competitive cup tie into a clear statement win.

Palmer Basket set the tone from the opening tip, racing to a 26-19 lead after the first quarter. Their guards pushed the tempo, their forwards ran the floor, and Zamora’s defense was stretched from the very start. The second quarter was even more one-sided, with Palmer adding a 24-18 advantage to take a 50-37 lead into halftime. By then, the pattern of the game was clear: Palmer’s ball movement and transition scoring were simply too much to handle.

The Third Quarter Breaks the Game Open

Any hopes of a Zamora comeback were effectively ended in the third quarter. Palmer Basket produced a 27-20 period, extending the lead to 77-57 and forcing Zamora into a series of difficult decisions on defense. The hosts shared the ball beautifully, punished closeouts and generated open looks from beyond the arc. When Zamora collapsed inside, Palmer’s shooters made them pay; when the defense stayed home, the guards attacked the rim.

The fourth quarter was played at a more relaxed tempo, but Palmer still added a 24-20 edge to complete the 101-77 victory. The final margin reflected the difference in offensive efficiency and rebounding intensity across the full 40 minutes.

Standout Performers

Lukas Ortega led Palmer Basket with 26 points, putting together a complete scoring performance that included several momentum-swinging baskets in the third quarter. Mario Vidal added 19 points and controlled the glass, while the bench contributed valuable energy in the second half. For Zamora, Hugo Prieto top-scored with 18 points, but the visitors struggled to find consistent support around him.

Palmer’s assist-to-turnover ratio and offensive rebounding numbers told the story of the game. The hosts created extra possessions and converted them at a high rate, while Zamora’s half-court offense became increasingly predictable as the deficit grew.

Season Impact and Cup Context

A 101-77 win is more than just a confidence boost in cup basketball. It signals that Palmer Basket can score at volume and sustain intensity for long stretches. The result will make them a dangerous opponent in the next round and gives their supporters plenty to be excited about.

For Zamora, the defeat is a difficult one, but it also provides clear areas for improvement. Defensive transition, rebounding discipline and late-clock offense all need attention. In the Copa del Rey de Baloncesto, where one off-night can end a run, Zamora will need a much sharper performance in their next outing.
