CB Tizona secured a 82–76 road win over Cordoba in the Copa del Rey de Baloncesto on October 22, 2026, using a late surge to hold off a determined home comeback.

Match overview

Tizona started strongly, moving the ball efficiently and knocking down outside shots to build an early lead. Cordoba stayed within touching distance through the first half, but Tizona’s perimeter accuracy allowed the visitors to head into the break with momentum. The second half was a different story, as Cordoba fought back to tie the game in the fourth quarter.

Key moments

With the score level at 74–74 and just over three minutes remaining, Tizona produced the decisive run of the game. A three-pointer from Diego Ruiz sparked an 8–0 burst that gave the visitors a cushion they would not surrender. Cordoba had chances to close the gap but missed three consecutive free throws in the final minute, allowing Tizona to close out the win from the line.

Tactical story

Tizona’s three-point shooting was the defining factor, as they connected on 11-of-24 attempts from beyond the arc. Cordoba, by contrast, struggled from deep and relied heavily on interior scoring. Tizona also won the turnover battle, committing just nine turnovers compared to Cordoba’s 14. That extra possession count proved critical in a game decided by fine margins.

Standout players

Ruiz led CB Tizona with 21 points and eight assists, controlling the game in the closing minutes. Jorge Salinas added 15 points and seven rebounds. For Cordoba, Carlos Moreno scored 18 points, and Raúl Jiménez contributed 14 points and nine rebounds.

What the result means

CB Tizona advance in the Copa del Rey de Baloncesto with a resilient road performance. Cordoba’s cup run ends, but the team can take encouragement from a second-half fightback that nearly overturned a double-digit deficit.
