Key moments

Leading 33-28, Caceres forced a series of turnovers and converted them into quick points at the other end, sparking a 20-4 run that pushed the lead to 53-32. Logrono never recovered. Caceres kept the pressure on after halftime, opening the third quarter with another burst and ensuring there would be no route back for the visitors.

Tactical story

Caceres’ full-court pressure was the engine behind the win. The hosts forced Logrono into hurried passes and difficult decisions, turning turnovers into fast-break points. Caceres also dominated the paint, using their size and athleticism to finish around the rim while drawing fouls. Logrono had some success when they broke the press, but they could not sustain that success often enough to slow Caceres’ momentum. The home side’s bench also provided a significant spark, maintaining the tempo when the starters rested.

Standout players

Caceres guard Alvaro Nunez was excellent with 23 points and nine assists, consistently breaking down Logrono’s defense and finding open teammates. Center Pablo Martin added 18 points and 12 rebounds, anchoring the paint at both ends. Forward Diego Ramos contributed 15 points off the bench, including several key baskets during the decisive first-half run. Logrono’s Javier Gil scored 16 points and competed hard, but he lacked enough support against Caceres’ waves of pressure.

Season impact

The victory sends Caceres through in the Copa del Rey de Baloncesto and signals that they will be a difficult opponent in the next round. Their defensive pressure and depth make them dangerous in knockout basketball. Logrono exit the competition after a tough road night, but the experience should help them in league play. Caceres will look to replicate the same intensity and ball movement in their next cup fixture.
