Key Moments

With the score tied at 86-86 and under four minutes remaining, Rain or Shine went on an 8-0 run powered by back-to-back three-pointers and a fast-break layup. TNT responded with a 6-2 spurt to cut the lead to 94-92, but the Elastopainters converted clutch free throws down the stretch. A late TNT three-point attempt that would have tied the game missed, and Rain or Shine secured the rebound to close out the 98-94 win.

The turning point came on the defensive end, where Rain or Shine forced three turnovers in a two-minute span. Those extra possessions turned a tight game into a small but decisive cushion.

Tactical Story

Rain or Shine’s offense was built on ball movement and perimeter spacing. They finished with 12 made three-pointers and consistently found open shooters when TNT collapsed on drives. Their guards attacked the paint early, then kicked out to shooters when the defense rotated, creating a balanced scoring attack that was difficult to slow down.

TNT focused on pounding the ball inside, where they held a 48-38 advantage in points in the paint. However, they struggled with turnovers and free-throw consistency in the fourth quarter. Defensively, TNT had trouble containing Rain or Shine’s pick-and-roll action, especially when the Elastopainters went to a smaller lineup that stretched the floor.

Top Scorers and Standout Players

Rain or Shine’s starting guard led all scorers with 26 points, 6 assists, and 4 rebounds. Their import forward added 22 points and 13 rebounds, controlling the glass on both ends, while a wing scorer contributed 15 points on efficient shooting. The bench provided timely minutes, particularly on defense in the closing quarter.

For TNT, the power forward finished with 24 points and 11 rebounds, leading the team in scoring and rebounding. Their lead guard added 19 points and 9 assists, creating most of the team’s best offensive looks. The center chipped in 12 points and 8 rebounds, but TNT’s late missed free throws and turnovers ultimately proved costly.

Standings and Season Impact

The result gives Rain or Shine Elastopainters a valuable road victory in the Club Friendship standings and adds a positive head-to-head result against a strong TNT side. For TNT Tropang Giga, the loss is a frustrating one, especially after fighting back to tie the game in the fourth quarter. Both teams will look to build on different lessons from this matchup: Rain or Shine on their clutch execution, and TNT on protecting the ball and closing out tight games. In a competition where every result can shape seeding and momentum, this 98-94 finish could matter well beyond September.
