Tactical Breakdown

They forced 18 turnovers and converted them into 21 points, while also shooting 40% from three-point range as a team. Sporting CP Women dominated the rebounding battle 38-32 but struggled to execute in half-court sets against Esgueira’s zone defense. The visitors’ ability to switch seamlessly between man-to-man and zone kept Sporting off balance all night, and their guards’ quick hands disrupted passing lanes repeatedly.

Club Friendship League Standings and Season Impact

With the win, CP Esgueira Women climbs the Club Friendship league standings, keeping their playoff hopes alive and adding a valuable road victory to their résumé. The loss is a setback for Sporting CP Women, who fall further behind in the race for a top-four finish.
