Chien Hsin University produced one of the most complete performances of the Club Friendship slate on Oct. 21, 2026, defeating National Taiwan University of Sport 85-47 in a game that turned decisively after halftime. The 16:00 tip-off was competitive in patches, but Chien Hsin’s defensive pressure and transition scoring gradually wore down NTUS and turned a modest early lead into a runaway result.

Chien Hsin controlled the game on both ends, moving the ball sharply against NTUS’s half-court defense and converting turnovers into quick baskets. National Taiwan University of Sport had moments of promise in the opening quarter, but its offense stalled as the game progressed, and the margin grew steadily after the break.

Match overview

Chien Hsin set the tone with a strong opening quarter and never allowed NTUS to settle into a rhythm. The game’s decisive stretch came in the third quarter, when Chien Hsin’s pressure defense created repeated extra possessions and the offense converted them into points at the rim and from the perimeter.

Key moments

Chien Hsin’s first major burst came late in the opening period, when it closed the quarter on a 12-2 run to build a double-digit cushion. NTUS briefly steadied itself in the second quarter, but a 19-4 Chien Hsin surge early in the third quarter effectively put the game out of reach.

The fourth quarter was played at a more measured pace, yet Chien Hsin maintained its defensive intensity and kept NTUS from stringing together enough scoring to threaten a comeback. The final margin of 38 points reflected Chien Hsin’s superiority in rebounding, transition offense and second-chance scoring.

Standout performers

• Chien Hsin backcourt: Controlled the tempo, pressured the ball and created easy baskets in transition.
• Chien Hsin frontcourt: Dominated the glass and gave the offense repeated second-chance opportunities.
• NTUS guards: Showed flashes of shot-making but were forced into too many contested attempts.
• NTUS interior defense: Battled early but wore down as Chien Hsin increased the pace.

Tactical story

Chien Hsin’s game plan was built on defensive disruption. It pressured NTUS’s ball handlers, denied clean entry passes and turned defensive stops into quick offense. That approach worked especially well in the third quarter, when NTUS’s half-court possessions became shorter and less efficient.

NTUS’s best moments came when it slowed the game down and attacked through the paint. But those spells were too brief, and Chien Hsin’s depth and rebounding advantage proved decisive. The result gives Chien Hsin a strong statement win in the Club Friendship competition, while NTUS will need to improve its ball security and defensive rebounding in its next outing.
