The Club Friendship tournament continued with an entertaining evening fixture as Siroki Prima Pivo defeated Kvarner 78-68 on the road. The visitors controlled the second half with a steady defensive effort and a productive night from beyond the arc, turning a tight contest into a ten-point win by the final buzzer.

Match Overview

Played at Kvarner's home floor, the game followed a classic friendly-tournament pattern early on: both sides pushed the tempo, traded quick baskets in transition, and looked more interested in testing rotations than locking into half-court sets. The first quarter ended with the two teams separated by a single possession, and the scoreline stayed within five points for most of the opening twenty minutes.

The decisive shift came after the restart. Siroki Prima Pivo tightened their perimeter defense, forced Kvarner into contested mid-range attempts, and gradually pulled away. By the end of the third quarter the visitors had built a cushion they would never surrender, finishing with a 78-68 scoreline that reflects their better shot selection down the stretch.

Key Moments

• Second-quarter surge: Siroki Prima Pivo closed the half with a run that flipped a narrow deficit into a lead at the interval.
• Third-quarter defense: A stretch of several consecutive empty possessions for Kvarner allowed the visitors to open a double-digit advantage.
• Fourth-quarter composure: Whenever Kvarner cut the gap, Siroki answered with a basket inside or a trip to the free-throw line.

Tactical Story

Kvarner's offense was at its best when the ball moved quickly through the high post, generating open looks for the wings and second-chance opportunities on the offensive glass. That approach worked well in the first half but stalled once Siroki Prima Pivo began switching screens and closing out harder on shooters.

Siroki Prima Pivo, meanwhile, leaned on a balanced scoring approach. Their guards controlled tempo, probing for mismatches before kicking out to shooters, while the frontcourt did the dirty work on the boards. The visitors also did a better job of getting to the line, converting contact into points and keeping Kvarner's big men in foul trouble.

Standout Performers

Siroki Prima Pivo's backcourt set the tone, combining efficient shooting with low turnover numbers, while their center anchored the paint on both ends. For Kvarner, the brightest spells came from their wing scorers, who kept the home side within touching distance with timely three-pointers and aggressive drives.

What It Means

The result is a valuable confidence boost for Siroki Prima Pivo, who showed they can win away from home and manage a game when it tightens in the final quarter. For Kvarner, the loss highlights areas to address before the competitive schedule begins: late-game execution, half-court creation against switching defenses, and rebounding discipline.

The final score reads Kvarner 68, Siroki Prima Pivo 78 — a ten-point margin that flatters neither side too much, but fairly rewards the visitors for the more complete performance.
