Illiabum Clube started with good energy and kept the game close through the first ten minutes. How Sangaliush Took Control

The game turned in the second quarter. With Illiabum leading early and looking comfortable in half-court sets, Sangaliush ramped up its defensive intensity and ripped off a 12-0 run. The surge was built on deflections, traps near the sideline and quick outlet passes that led to easy fast-break baskets.

That run changed the rhythm of the entire contest. Illiabum’s offense became hesitant, and its half-court possessions turned into long, contested jumpers. Sangaliush, meanwhile, played with growing confidence. The visitors moved the ball sharply, attacked closeouts and crashed the offensive glass when the first shot missed.

Key Moments

Sangaliush’s 12-0 second-quarter burst gave it a 28-14 advantage and forced Illiabum into a timeout. Illiabum responded with a modest run of its own in the third quarter, cutting the margin to 53-43 by the end of the period, but it could not sustain the momentum.

Early in the fourth, Illiabum scored five quick points to make it 53-48 and briefly revived the home crowd. Sangaliush answered immediately with a 10-0 run of its own, effectively putting the game out of reach. From there, the visitors controlled the clock, protected the ball and closed out the 73-57 win.

Standout Players

• Nemanja Petrovic (Sangaliush): 22 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. He was the best player on the floor, scoring from all three levels and controlling the pace.
• Rui Almeida (Sangaliush): 15 points, including four three-pointers. His shooting punished Illiabum’s zone looks.
• Kwame Boateng (Sangaliush): 12 points and 10 rebounds. He dominated the glass and gave Sangaliush a strong interior presence.
• João Silva (Illiabum Clube): 16 points and 7 rebounds. He fought hard inside and was one of the few consistent offensive threats for the home side.
• André Costa (Illiabum Clube): 13 points and 5 assists. He tried to steady the offense when Sangaliush pressured the ball.
• Miguel Santos (Illiabum Clube): 10 points and 4 rebounds. He provided energy off the bench.

Tactical Story

Sangaliush won this game with defense. Its full-court pressure forced Illiabum into 18 turnovers, many of which turned directly into transition points. Sangaliush also controlled the rebounding battle 38-30 and shot more efficiently from beyond the arc, hitting 10 three-pointers compared to Illiabum’s five.

Illiabum’s half-court offense struggled against Sangaliush’s active hands and help rotations. When the home side did break the pressure, it often rushed the next pass or settled for an early three. Defensively, Illiabum had no answer for Petrovic’s pick-and-roll play, and its zone defense left too many open shooters on the wing.

What the Result Means

The victory strengthens Sangaliush’s position in the Club Friendship campaign and marks one of its most complete road performances of the season. A 16-point win away from home, built on defense and balanced scoring, is exactly the kind of result that builds momentum.

For Illiabum Clube, the loss is a setback, especially at home. The team showed flashes in the first quarter and early in the fourth, but the second-quarter collapse and late scoring drought proved too costly. Illiabum will need cleaner ball handling and better half-court execution in its next Club Friendship outing.
