CSM Targoviste Women 106-58 Sportul Bucuresti Women: Dominant Club Friendship Win

CSM Targoviste Women produced one of the most emphatic performances of the Club Friendship basketball season on September 24, 2026, dismantling Sportul Bucuresti Women 106-58 at home. The 48-point margin reflected Targoviste's control from the opening tip, with the hosts setting the tempo on both ends and never allowing Sportul to settle into a competitive rhythm.

The result boosts CSM Targoviste's standing in the Club Friendship standings and underlines their reputation as one of the most dangerous offensive teams in the competition. For Sportul Bucuresti Women, it was a difficult road night against an opponent that punished every mistake and turned defensive stops into quick points.

Match Overview

CSM Targoviste opened with aggressive perimeter defense and crisp ball movement, racing to a 28-12 lead after the first quarter. The second period followed a similar pattern: Targoviste kept attacking the paint, knocked down open threes, and limited Sportul to contested jump shots. By halftime, the score stood at 53-28, and the game already felt firmly in the hosts' control.

The third quarter was the most lopsided stretch of the night. Targoviste outscored Sportul 29-14, pushing the lead beyond 40 points and forcing Sportul into repeated turnovers. With the outcome effectively decided, the fourth quarter gave both benches extended minutes, but Targoviste's reserves maintained the same intensity and closed out the 106-58 victory.

Quarter-by-Quarter Scoring

Key Moments and Turning Point

The turning point arrived late in the first quarter. After Sportul briefly trimmed the deficit with back-to-back baskets, CSM Targoviste responded with a 12-0 run powered by transition layups and two three-pointers from the wing. That burst turned a competitive opening into a double-digit cushion and set the tone for the rest of the evening.

Another decisive stretch came early in the third quarter. Targoviste opened the second half with a full-court press that forced three turnovers in under two minutes. The hosts converted each mistake into points, extending the lead to 35 and effectively removing any doubt about the final result.

Tactical Story

CSM Targoviste's game plan was built on pressure and pace. On defense, they switched aggressively on screens and denied easy entry passes into the post. On offense, they played inside-out, using their size advantage to draw help defenders before kicking the ball to open shooters. The result was a balanced attack that finished with six players scoring at least eight points.

Sportul Bucuresti Women struggled to handle Targoviste's defensive intensity. Their half-court offense often stalled near the top of the key, and when they did break the press, they rushed shots in transition. Sportul's 19 turnovers proved costly, especially against a team as efficient as Targoviste.
