Key moments

The game’s defining moment came midway through the first quarter, when Chien Hsin used a 16-0 run to break the game open. The run featured steals, fast-break layups and open three-pointers, forcing Overseas Chinese University into a timeout. The break did little to slow Chien Hsin, who continued to extend the lead with disciplined defensive rotations and quick ball movement.

• Chien Hsin led by 31 points at halftime.
• Overseas Chinese University was held to single-digit scoring in the fourth quarter.
• Chien Hsin’s bench maintained the defensive pressure late in the game.

Tactical story

Chien Hsin University’s defensive approach was aggressive and organized. They denied easy entry passes, trapped ball handlers near the sidelines and rotated quickly to close out shooters. That pressure generated a steady stream of turnovers, which Chien Hsin converted into transition points. Offensively, they played unselfishly, swinging the ball from side to side and attacking closeouts.

Overseas Chinese University struggled to handle the pace. Their half-court sets were disrupted by Chien Hsin’s length and activity, and second-chance opportunities were rare. When OCU did break the pressure, they often rushed shots or turned the ball over again before getting into their offense.

Standout performers

Chien Hsin University received contributions across the roster, with multiple players reaching double figures and the bench extending the lead in the second half. Their guards controlled the tempo, while the frontcourt dominated the glass and protected the rim. For Overseas Chinese University, the effort remained visible, but the team could not match Chien Hsin’s speed or physicality.

Season impact

A 100-42 win is a statement result in any Club Friendship setting. Chien Hsin University’s point differential could prove valuable if the competition is decided by tiebreakers, and the performance reinforced their depth and defensive identity. Overseas Chinese University will need to regroup quickly, focusing on ball security and half-court execution after a difficult outing.
