Beroe delivered a performance to remember in the Club Friendship competition on Sunday, dismantling CSKA Sofia 102-64 in a one-sided contest that was effectively decided before half-time. The 38-point margin was built on relentless defensive pressure, fast-break scoring and a shooting display that left the visitors chasing shadows from the opening minutes.

Match Overview

Beroe came out with obvious intent. Their guards pressed high up the floor, forced early turnovers and converted them into easy points at the other end. Inside the first six minutes the home side had already opened a double-digit advantage, and CSKA Sofia never found a way to slow the game down.

By the end of the first quarter the lead stood at twelve. By half-time it had grown past twenty, and the second half became a matter of professionalism for Beroe as they maintained intensity, rotated the bench and still extended the margin.

• Final: Beroe 102 – 64 CSKA Sofia

Key Moments

The defining passage came late in the first quarter and early in the second, when Beroe strung together a decisive run built on steals, transition layups and open three-pointers. CSKA Sofia called two timeouts during the sequence, but neither stemmed the flow. A buzzer-beating three before half-time pushed the lead beyond twenty and visibly deflated the visitors.

The third quarter brought the highlight of the night: a fast-break alley-oop that brought the home crowd to its feet and stretched the advantage to thirty. From there, Beroe's coaching staff emptied the bench, giving rotation players meaningful minutes without any drop in execution.

Standout Performers

Beroe's scoring was spread across the roster, with multiple players finishing in double figures — a hallmark of a team sharing the ball effectively. The starting backcourt set the tone on both ends, while the bench contributed significantly on the scoreboard and on the glass.

CSKA Sofia's struggles were compounded by foul trouble and poor shooting from beyond the arc. Their leading scorer worked hard for his points in isolation, but with little support, the offense became predictable and Beroe's defense feasted.

Tactical Story

The gap was created by defensive pressure. Beroe's full-court looks and half-court traps forced CSKA into rushed decisions and long passes, generating the turnovers that fuelled the fast break. Offensively, Beroe attacked the paint first and let the three-point shots come naturally — the opposite of CSKA's approach, which settled for perimeter attempts without establishing an inside presence.

What It Means

A century of points and a 38-point win is the kind of result that shapes the mood of a Club Friendship campaign. Beroe strengthen their standing and their points differential, which can be decisive in a tightly contested table, while CSKA Sofia must regroup quickly and address their ball security and rebounding before the next round of fixtures. The head-to-head result will be a psychological advantage for Beroe should the two sides meet again in the knockout stages.
