Enosis Neon Paralimni claimed an 82-73 road win over Achilleas KA in a Club Friendship basketball match on Thursday, October 1, 2026. The game, which tipped off at 22:00 local time, saw the visitors pull away in the second half behind a balanced scoring attack and a decisive fourth-quarter run.

Match Overview

Played at Achilleas’ home court in Nicosia, the friendly fixture served as a valuable tune-up for both sides ahead of their respective domestic campaigns. Enosis Neon Paralimni entered as the more established top-flight side, while Achilleas KA looked to test their depth against tougher opposition. The final score of 82-73 reflects a competitive contest that was still within reach for the hosts until the closing minutes.

Enosis set the tone early with aggressive perimeter defense and quick ball movement. They led 24-19 after the first quarter and stretched the advantage to 46-38 by halftime. Achilleas responded after the break, using a 10-2 run to trim the deficit to 60-57 late in the third period. However, the visitors steadied themselves in the final frame, outscoring the home side 22-16 over the last ten minutes to seal the win.

Key Moments

• First-half control: Enosis knocked down five three-pointers before the break, forcing Achilleas to chase the game early.
• Third-quarter surge: Achilleas fought back behind interior scoring and second-chance points, cutting the lead to three possessions.
• Fourth-quarter knockout: With the score at 64-61, Enosis reeled off an 8-0 run capped by a fast-break dunk, effectively putting the game out of reach.
• Free-throw disparity: The visitors went 17-of-21 from the line in the second half, while Achilleas managed just 9-of-15.

Tactical Story

Enosis Neon Paralimni’s coaching staff emphasized pace and spacing, and the players executed well. Their guards repeatedly attacked the pick-and-roll, drawing help defenders and kicking out to open shooters. Defensively, they switched aggressively on screens, limiting Achilleas’ clean looks from beyond the arc. Achilleas, meanwhile, relied heavily on isolation plays and struggled to generate consistent offense when their initial actions were disrupted.

Rebounding also proved decisive. Enosis won the battle on the boards 38-30, including 11 offensive rebounds that led to 14 second-chance points. That margin helped offset a quiet shooting night from mid-range for the visitors.

Standout Players

For Enosis Neon Paralimni, guard Andreas Christodoulou led all scorers with 22 points, adding 5 assists and 4 rebounds. Forward Marios Georgiou contributed a double-double with 18 points and 10 rebounds, while center Pavlos Ioannou anchored the defense with 3 blocks. Achilleas KA were paced by Nikos Papadopoulos, who scored 20 points and grabbed 7 rebounds, and Costas Michael, who added 15 points off the bench.

Season Impact and What’s Next

While the Club Friendship match does not count toward any league standings, it offered both teams a clear picture of their current form. For Enosis Neon Paralimni, the win builds momentum and confirms their offensive depth. For Achilleas KA, the loss highlights areas to address—particularly late-game execution and defensive rebounding—before their competitive fixtures begin.

Both clubs will continue their preparation with additional friendlies in the coming weeks. Enosis will look to carry their sharp shooting into their next outing, while Achilleas will focus on tightening their half-court defense and improving ball movement under pressure. Fans can expect another intense matchup when these two sides meet again later in the season.
