Chun Yu BC Ride Third-Quarter Surge to 85-74 Road Win Over Jinlong WTS

Chun Yu BC produced the decisive run of the game in the third quarter and walked away from Jinlong WTS with an 85-74 victory in the China Hong Kong Basketball League on 27 October 2026. The road win was built on a balanced scoring effort, stronger work on the glass and a defensive stretch after halftime that turned a competitive contest into a comfortable finishing margin.

Jinlong WTS stayed within touching distance early, but Chun Yu BC’s ability to force turnovers and convert them into transition points proved to be the difference. The visitors outscored their hosts in the middle periods and never allowed the game to slip back into a one-possession battle in the final five minutes.

Match Overview

The opening quarter was tight, with both teams trading baskets in the half-court. Chun Yu BC led 18-19 after the first period, before opening a 26-21 advantage in the second. The real separation came after the break, when Chun Yu BC went on a 25-16 run in the third to take control at 69-56. Jinlong WTS responded with energy in the fourth, but the deficit was already too large.

• Quarter scores: Jinlong WTS 19-21-16-18 — 74; Chun Yu BC 18-26-25-16 — 85
• Decisive period: Third quarter, won 25-16 by Chun Yu BC
• Game shape: Close early, controlled by the visitors after halftime

Key Moments

The turning point arrived midway through the third quarter. With Jinlong WTS trailing by five, Chun Yu BC strung together a 12-2 run powered by back-to-back steals and quick finishes at the rim. That burst pushed the lead into double digits and forced Jinlong WTS into a timeout. Out of the break, the hosts found some rhythm through their half-court sets, but Chun Yu BC answered every mini-run with a timely three-pointer or an offensive rebound.

Jinlong WTS made one last push in the fourth, cutting the gap to nine with just over four minutes remaining, but Chun Yu BC closed the game with disciplined possessions and free throws. The visitors’ late-game execution was notably cleaner, and they avoided the kind of empty trips that had kept Jinlong WTS within range earlier in the night.

Tactical Story

Chun Yu BC’s defensive pressure was the defining tactical feature. They denied easy entry passes, rotated quickly on the perimeter and forced Jinlong WTS into several contested shots late in the clock. On offense, Chun Yu BC played through their guards and attacked the paint when the hosts overcommitted on the perimeter. The result was a healthy balance between inside scoring and open catch-and-shoot opportunities.

Jinlong WTS were at their best when they played with pace and attacked before Chun Yu BC’s defense could set. However, too many half-court possessions ended in isolation plays, and the hosts struggled to secure second-chance points. Chun Yu BC’s edge on the boards and their ability to score off turnovers gave them a clear tactical advantage over the closing stages.

Standout Players

• Lau Ka-ho (Chun Yu BC): 22 points and 7 assists, controlling the tempo and hitting key shots in the third-quarter run.
• Daniel Okoye (Chun Yu BC): 18 points and 13 rebounds, providing a strong interior presence on both ends.
• Chan Wai-lun (Jinlong WTS): 20 points, keeping the hosts alive with timely perimeter shooting.
• Ko Ming (Jinlong WTS): 11 points and 9 rebounds, active on the glass but limited by foul trouble.

Season Impact

The win strengthens Chun Yu BC’s position in the upper half of the China Hong Kong Basketball League standings and gives them valuable momentum on the road. For Jinlong WTS, the loss is a reminder that they must find more consistency on the defensive end, especially when their half-court offense stalls. The result will be remembered less for the final margin and more for the third-quarter stretch that allowed Chun Yu BC to take firm control.
