Jilin Northeast Tigers Take Road Win Over Ningbo Rockets 85-76

The Jilin Northeast Tigers secured an important Chinese Basketball Association road victory on October 26, 2026, defeating the Ningbo Rockets 85-76. Jilin controlled the game with a patient half-court offense and a defense that forced Ningbo into difficult shots down the stretch.

Ningbo stayed competitive early, but Jilin’s ability to score in bunches around the perimeter and protect the defensive glass made the difference. The visitors led 24-18 after the first quarter, took a 43-38 edge into halftime and then created separation with a 22-17 third quarter.

Match Overview

Jilin’s guards did a strong job of changing pace, attacking when Ningbo overextended and pulling the ball out when the defense collapsed. The Northeast Tigers finished with a balanced scoring line and consistently found the open man against Ningbo’s help defense.

Ningbo’s offense had productive moments in the paint, but the Rockets were hurt by cold stretches from the perimeter and a handful of empty possessions in the third quarter. Jilin’s ability to turn those misses into transition opportunities proved decisive.

Key Moments

• Jilin closed the first half with a 7-2 run to take a five-point lead into the break.
• A 10-2 burst midway through the third quarter gave the Northeast Tigers their first double-digit advantage.
• Ningbo trimmed the lead to seven in the fourth, but Jilin answered with a corner three and a fast-break layup.
• Jilin sealed the result at the free-throw line in the final two minutes.

Tactical Story

The game turned on Jilin’s perimeter defense and rebounding discipline. The Northeast Tigers limited second-chance points and forced Ningbo into contested mid-range attempts. On offense, Jilin used high ball screens to create driving lanes and consistently punished Ningbo when the help defense arrived late.

Ningbo’s best stretches came when the Rockets played through the post and generated open shooters from inside-out action. However, those stretches were too brief. Jilin’s ability to answer every Ningbo run kept the home side from building sustained momentum.

Standout Performers and Season Impact

Jiang Weize led Jilin with 21 points and six assists, controlling the tempo in the backcourt. The Northeast Tigers also received strong production from their frontcourt, which combined for 28 points and 19 rebounds. Ningbo’s leading scorer finished with 18 points, but the Rockets shot under 30% from three-point range as a team.

The win strengthens Jilin’s position in the CBA standings and gives the Northeast Tigers a useful road result early in the campaign. For Ningbo, the loss highlights the need for more consistent outside shooting and better late-game execution. The teams will not meet again immediately, but the result could matter when tiebreakers and head-to-head records are evaluated later in the season.
