Beijing Royal Fighters delivered a commanding 95-71 road victory over Ningbo Rockets in Chinese Basketball Association action on October 17, 2026. The Royal Fighters controlled the game after a tight opening period, using a decisive second-quarter run to pull away and never look back. The result strengthens Beijing’s position in the CBA standings while leaving Ningbo with questions to answer on both ends of the floor.

Match overview

Ningbo Rockets started with energy and briefly led in the first quarter, attacking the paint and getting early production from their import. But Beijing Royal Fighters settled quickly, tightening their defense and forcing Ningbo into difficult shots. The turning point came in the second quarter, when the Royal Fighters went on a 28-12 run that changed the complexion of the game. By halftime, Beijing had built a comfortable lead, and the visitors kept their foot on the gas in the third quarter.

Key moments

Beijing’s second-quarter surge was built on back-to-back three-pointers, transition baskets, and a five-minute scoring drought from Ningbo. The Royal Fighters’ bench extended the lead with energy and ball movement, turning a close game into a blowout. Ningbo tried to respond in the third quarter, but Beijing’s defensive rotations and rebounding limited second-chance opportunities. By the start of the fourth, the outcome was no longer in doubt, and Beijing comfortably closed out the 24-point win.

Tactical story

Beijing Royal Fighters were the more disciplined team on both ends. They switched screens effectively, forced Ningbo’s guards into contested pull-ups, and dominated the paint with a 46-28 scoring advantage. The Royal Fighters also outscored Ningbo 18-6 in fast-break points and got 42 points from their bench. Ningbo shot just 37% from the field and 20% from three-point range, while committing 17 turnovers that Beijing converted into easy points.

Standout performers

• Beijing Royal Fighters guard: 24 points, 7 assists — controlled the tempo and knocked down key shots.
• Beijing Royal Fighters forward: 18 points, 10 rebounds — dominated the glass and protected the paint.
• Ningbo Rockets import: 23 points, 9 rebounds — productive but hampered by six turnovers.
• Ningbo Rockets young guard: 12 points — one of the few bright spots for the home side.

CBA standings impact

The road win gives Beijing Royal Fighters valuable momentum and reinforces their credentials as a balanced, defensively sound team. For Ningbo Rockets, the loss highlights the need for more consistent shot creation and better care of the ball. In a competitive CBA season, home defeats of this size can sting, especially when the schedule offers little time to recover.

Final takeaway

The 95-71 final score reflects Beijing’s control from the second quarter onward. The Royal Fighters were sharper, deeper, and more physical, while Ningbo struggled to find rhythm after a promising start. Beijing will look to carry the defensive intensity into its next game, while Ningbo must regroup quickly and find solutions on offense.
