Jiangsu Dragons Kentier Pull Away from Fujian Xunxing Sturgeons 88-78

Jiangsu Dragons Kentier defeated the Fujian Xunxing Sturgeons 88-78 in Chinese Basketball Association action on October 27, 2026, using a decisive third-quarter run to turn a close contest into a comfortable home win.

The game was evenly matched for much of the first half, but Jiangsu’s defensive intensity and improved ball movement after the break proved decisive. Fujian stayed competitive behind perimeter shooting, yet they could not match Jiangsu’s consistency on both ends over the full 40 minutes.

Match Overview

Jiangsu opened the game with a balanced attack, scoring inside and out while keeping Fujian’s guards from finding easy driving lanes. The Sturgeons responded with timely three-point shooting and kept the deficit manageable. At halftime, Jiangsu held a narrow 41-39 lead, with neither team able to claim real control.

The third quarter changed the game. Jiangsu increased their defensive pressure, forced Fujian into difficult shots and began to dominate the defensive glass. On offence, the Dragons Kentier shared the ball well and repeatedly found open shooters against a scrambling Fujian defence.

Key Moments

Jiangsu’s decisive stretch came early in the third quarter, when a 12-2 run pushed their lead into double digits. Fujian called timeout to stop the momentum, but Jiangsu kept executing at both ends. By the end of the third, the hosts had built a 67-55 cushion.

Fujian made one final push in the fourth quarter, cutting the lead to six with a flurry of three-pointers and transition baskets. Jiangsu answered with a composed 6-0 run, capped by a strong finish at the rim, to restore control and close out the win.

• Jiangsu’s 12-2 third-quarter run created the separation.
• Fujian cut the lead to six before Jiangsu responded.
• Jiangsu controlled the defensive glass in the second half.

Tactical Story

Jiangsu’s half-court offence was patient and purposeful. The Dragons Kentier used dribble penetration to collapse Fujian’s defence and then kicked the ball out to open shooters. Their forwards also did a strong job on the offensive boards, creating extra possessions that helped sustain momentum during the third-quarter surge.

Fujian’s best moments came when they played with pace and attacked before Jiangsu’s defence could set. However, their outside shooting cooled in the second half, and they struggled to generate consistent points in the paint. Defensive rebounding was another issue, allowing Jiangsu to control the tempo late.

Standout Performers

Jiangsu’s forward group was central to the win, contributing on the glass, in transition and from the perimeter. Their primary guard controlled the tempo and made good decisions in pick-and-roll situations. Fujian’s backcourt kept the team alive with timely shot-making, but the Sturgeons lacked the same balance across all five positions.

Season Impact

This is a solid home result for Jiangsu Dragons Kentier, who will be pleased with their second-half adjustments and defensive effort. The win helps build momentum in the CBA standings and reinforces their ability to close games when the pace slows. Fujian Xunxing Sturgeons will look to rediscover their shooting rhythm and improve their rebounding before the next matchup.
