Jiangsu Dragons Kentier 83, Beijing Shougang Ducks 86 — Chinese Basketball Association

The Beijing Shougang Ducks edged the Jiangsu Dragons Kentier 86-83 on Sunday, October 11, 2026, in a tense Chinese Basketball Association clash that came down to the final possessions. The game tipped off at 7:30 p.m. and delivered everything a neutral fan could ask for: a tight scoreline, momentum swings, and a road team cool enough to close it out.

For much of the night the two sides traded blows, with neither able to build a double-digit cushion. In the end, it was Beijing's composure at both ends in the closing minutes that made the difference.

Match Overview

The contest was a back-and-forth affair from the opening tip. Jiangsu started brightly in front of their home crowd, but Beijing answered with a steady second-quarter run to take control before halftime. The Dragons responded after the break, setting up a nervy final period that went down to the wire.

• First quarter: Jiangsu 22–20
• Halftime: Beijing 45–41
• End of third: Beijing 66–64
• Final: Beijing 86–83

Neither team shot the ball exceptionally well, but the Ducks' ability to convert in the biggest moments proved decisive. Jiangsu had chances late, only to see key attempts rim out as the clock wound down.

Key Moments

The final two minutes defined the game. With the score level, Beijing executed a patient half-court set that produced a go-ahead basket, then forced a Jiangsu miss at the other end. A pair of clutch free throws extended the lead to three, and Jiangsu's last-ditch three-point attempt fell short.

Earlier, the Ducks had seized momentum with a strong close to the second quarter, turning a narrow deficit into a four-point halftime lead. That burst gave them confidence that carried into the second half.

Tactical Story

Beijing's defensive discipline was the foundation of the win. They limited Jiangsu's transition opportunities and forced the Dragons into contested jump shots, particularly in the fourth quarter. Offensively, the Ducks leaned on patient ball movement, working the ball inside-out to create quality looks.

Jiangsu's effort was built on energy and rebounding, keeping them within striking distance throughout. However, untimely turnovers and cold stretches from the perimeter prevented them from pulling away when they had the chance.

Standout Performers

• Beijing's perimeter leaders hit timely shots and handled the ball cleanly under pressure.
• The Ducks' interior players battled on the boards and provided crucial second-chance opportunities.
• Jiangsu's guards kept the Dragons in the game with aggressive drives and mid-range scoring.

Standings and Season Impact

The narrow road win gives Beijing valuable momentum and strengthens their position in the CBA standings. For Jiangsu, it was a frustrating defeat in a game they were well positioned to win, and one that will sting given how close the finish proved to be.

Both teams now move on to their next assignments, with Beijing looking to build on a gritty result and Jiangsu eager to convert competitive performances into victories.
