Beijing Shougang Ducks delivered one of the most dominant performances of the Chinese Basketball Association season, crushing the Shenzhen Leopards 120-62 on October 22, 2026. The 58-point margin told the story of a night on which Beijing controlled every phase of the game from the opening tip.

Match overview

Beijing came out with intense defensive pressure and never let Shenzhen find comfort. The Ducks scored 32 points in the first quarter alone and led 61-30 at halftime. The second half was more of the same, with Beijing’s bench maintaining the energy and extending the advantage.

• First quarter: Beijing 32-14
• Second quarter: Beijing 29-16
• Halftime: Beijing 61-30
• Third quarter: Beijing 31-15
• Fourth quarter: Beijing 28-17
• Final score: Beijing Shougang Ducks 120, Shenzhen Leopards 62

Key moments

The game was effectively decided in the first quarter. Beijing’s full-court pressure disrupted Shenzhen’s half-court sets, leading to turnovers and easy transition baskets. Once the Ducks built a double-digit lead, their confidence visibly grew, and the offense began to click from the perimeter and in the paint.

Any slim hope of a Shenzhen comeback disappeared early in the third quarter. Beijing opened the second half with another run, pushing the lead past 40 points and forcing Shenzhen into a series of difficult, contested shots. From there, the only question was the final margin.

Tactical story

Beijing’s defensive game plan was ruthless. The Ducks denied easy catches on the wing, rotated quickly to shooters, and protected the rim with physical interior defense. Shenzhen was forced into long possessions and low-percentage attempts, finishing with just 62 points.

Offensively, Beijing shared the ball beautifully. The Ducks attacked in transition, moved the ball ahead of Shenzhen’s retreating defense, and knocked down open shots when the game slowed down. Their bench played with the same urgency as the starters, which prevented any let-up over the final 12 minutes.

Standout performers

Zeng Fanbo brought length, energy, and versatility on both ends, while Fan Ziming provided a strong interior presence. Zhai Xiaochuan’s leadership and defensive activity set the tone, and Beijing’s guards controlled the tempo with poise. The Ducks’ depth was especially impressive; contributions came from across the rotation, making it impossible for Shenzhen to focus on one player.

For Shenzhen Leopards, He Xining and Shen Zijie tried to keep the offense afloat, but the team as a whole struggled against Beijing’s pressure. Shenzhen’s shooting numbers were poor, and the Leopards were often forced into one-pass possessions. It was a night to forget, but also a clear teaching moment for a team with playoff aspirations.

What it means

The 120-62 win is a statement result for Beijing Shougang Ducks. It boosts their point differential, reinforces their defensive identity, and sends a warning to the rest of the CBA. For Shenzhen Leopards, the defeat raises questions about ball security and offensive execution against elite pressure. In the Chinese Basketball Association standings, a margin like this can matter later in the season, and Beijing made sure to take full advantage.
