The SESI / Araraquara Women's basketball team delivered a commanding defensive performance to defeat São José Women 62-48 in a Brazil Liga Feminina de Basquete clash on May 21, 2026. Playing in front of an enthusiastic home crowd, Araraquara controlled the tempo from the opening quarter and never allowed their rivals to find an offensive rhythm, securing a crucial early-season win.

Match Overview

Right from the first whistle, SESI / Araraquara set the tone with aggressive on-ball pressure and crisp help defense. They jumped out to a 16-10 lead after the first quarter, limiting São José to just 33% shooting. The second quarter saw much of the same, as Araraquara's relentless rotation forced multiple shot-clock violations and hurried attempts. At halftime, the home side held a comfortable 33-22 advantage.

São José attempted to rally in the third quarter, cutting the deficit to single digits on a couple of occasions, but Araraquara always had an answer. Every time the visitors seemed to gain momentum, a timely three-pointer or a tough finish in the paint restored order. By the fourth quarter, the lead was secure, and Araraquara cruised to a 14-point victory.
