Match overview

Uniao Corinthians started with energy and kept the game close through the opening quarter, but Pitagoras Minas gradually imposed its rhythm. The visitors moved the ball well, attacked mismatches, and used a series of second-half runs to turn a competitive game into a comfortable win.

• First quarter: Uniao Corinthians 19-24 Pitagoras Minas
• Second quarter: Uniao Corinthians 17-22 Pitagoras Minas
• Third quarter: Uniao Corinthians 20-21 Pitagoras Minas
• Fourth quarter: Uniao Corinthians 15-21 Pitagoras Minas
• Final score: Uniao Corinthians 71-88 Pitagoras Minas

The 17-point margin was built on consistency. Pitagoras Minas scored at least 21 points in three of the four quarters and held Uniao Corinthians to 15 points in the final period, closing the game with the kind of defensive control that travels well in the NBB.

Key moments

The turning point came midway through the third quarter. Uniao Corinthians had trimmed the deficit to six and the home crowd was beginning to sense a run. Pitagoras Minas responded with a defensive stand, a transition three-pointer, and an offensive rebound that led to free throws. The lead ballooned back to double digits, and Uniao Corinthians never recovered.

In the fourth quarter, Pitagoras Minas put the game away with a patient half-court possession followed by a steal and layup. That sequence summed up the night: the visitors made the extra pass, defended with discipline, and converted the easy chances that Uniao Corinthians missed.

Tactical story

Pitagoras Minas won the perimeter battle. The team shot well from beyond the arc and used that threat to open driving lanes. When Uniao Corinthians closed out aggressively, the visitors attacked the basket; when the defense sagged, they made the extra pass for an open look. That offensive versatility kept the home side off balance.

Defensively, Pitagoras Minas forced turnovers and limited clean looks in the paint. Uniao Corinthians’ offense became stagnant in the second half, relying on individual plays rather than collective movement. The visitors’ rebounding effort also improved as the game progressed, denying the home side second-chance opportunities at critical moments.

Standout performers

Pitagoras Minas’ backcourt controlled the pace and made timely shots, while the frontcourt provided physical play on the glass and solid interior defense. The bench contributed important minutes, helping the visitors maintain intensity through the middle of the game. Uniao Corinthians had spells of good play, but the home side lacked consistent production from beyond the arc and struggled to contain Pitagoras Minas in transition.

Season impact

The road win strengthens Pitagoras Minas’ position in the NBB standings and gives the team a valuable head-to-head result. For Uniao Corinthians, the defeat is a missed opportunity at home and a reminder of how quickly games can slip away when shooting cools and defensive rotations slow down.

Pitagoras Minas will look to build on the balanced effort, while Uniao Corinthians must correct their half-court execution before the next fixture.
