Mogi das Cruzes secured an impressive road victory in the Novo Basquete Brasil, defeating GRSA Itabom Bauru 79-61 on October 24, 2026. The visitors controlled the game from the opening quarter, combining aggressive perimeter defense with efficient shot-making to hand Bauru a difficult home defeat.

Match Overview

Mogi opened with a 20-14 first quarter and never trailed again. Bauru struggled to find rhythm against Mogi’s pressure, managing just 30 points by halftime. The visitors led 39-30 at the break and then broke the game open with a strong third quarter, extending the advantage to 60-45. Bauru’s offense remained stagnant in the final period, and Mogi cruised to an 18-point win.

Key Moments

The decisive spell came late in the second quarter. With Bauru threatening to cut the lead to five, Mogi forced three consecutive turnovers and converted them into a 10-0 run. That sequence changed the complexion of the game and gave the visitors a double-digit cushion at halftime. Early in the third quarter, Mogi delivered another blow with an 8-0 burst, effectively putting the contest out of reach.

Tactical Story

Mogi’s half-court defense was the story of the night. The visitors crowded Bauru’s primary ball handlers, denied easy entry passes and forced Bauru into a series of contested three-point attempts. Bauru finished with a low shooting percentage from beyond the arc and rarely generated second-chance points. Offensively, Mogi moved the ball well, attacked closeouts and used timely screening actions to create open looks in the paint.

Standout Players

• Caio Ribeiro paced Mogi with 18 points and five assists.
• Felipe Nunes added 15 points and eight rebounds, controlling the glass.
• André Lopes led Bauru with 14 points but was forced into difficult shots.
• Mogi’s bench provided valuable minutes, contributing 22 points collectively.

NBB Impact

The result gives Mogi das Cruzes a valuable road win and boosts their standing in the NBB table. For Bauru, the defeat raises questions about their offensive consistency and ability to handle pressure defense. Both teams will now turn their attention to the next round, with Bauru seeking a response and Mogi aiming to build on a convincing performance.
