CAIXA Brasília Basquete produced one of their most complete performances of the Novo Basquete Brasil campaign, defeating Paulistano Amil 91-73 on October 24, 2026, at home. The 18-point victory was built on balanced scoring, disciplined defense and a decisive third-quarter surge that turned a competitive NBB matchup into a comfortable result.

Match Overview

Brasília set the tone early with a 24-18 first quarter, attacking the paint and forcing Paulistano into contested jump shots. The home side extended the lead to 47-35 by halftime, using quick ball movement and second-chance points to keep the visitors on the back foot. Paulistano remained within striking distance for much of the third period, but Brasília’s depth and rebounding proved decisive down the stretch.

Key Moments

The turning point arrived midway through the third quarter. After Paulistano trimmed the deficit to single digits, Brasília responded with a 9-0 run capped by a transition dunk and a corner three. That burst pushed the margin back to 15 and forced Paulistano into a timeout. Brasília closed the quarter at 69-55 and controlled the final ten minutes, never allowing the visitors to mount a serious comeback.

Tactical Story

Brasília’s inside-out approach worked effectively throughout the night. The hosts dominated the rebound count and generated extra possessions, while their guards repeatedly broke down Paulistano’s first line of defense. On the other end, Brasília’s switching scheme limited clean looks from beyond the arc and forced Paulistano into several late-shot-clock attempts. The visitors’ turnover issues also fueled Brasília’s transition game, especially in the second half.

Standout Players

• Rafael Marques led Brasília with 19 points, including three timely three-pointers.
• Diego Alves added 14 points and nine rebounds, anchoring the interior defense.
• Lucas Prado contributed 12 points and six assists off the bench.
• Bruno Tavares was Paulistano’s top scorer with 16 points, but received limited support.

NBB Impact

The win strengthens Brasília’s position in the NBB standings and adds another valuable head-to-head result to their season resume. For Paulistano, the loss highlights the need for more consistent perimeter shooting and better ball security on the road. Brasília will look to carry the momentum into their next fixture, while Paulistano must regroup quickly in a congested NBB schedule.
