CAIXA Brasília Basquete defeated Corinthians 104-92 in Novo Basquete Brasil on October 23, 2026, winning a high-scoring contest with a balanced offensive performance and a strong finish down the stretch. The home side reached the century mark and held off every Corinthians run.

Match overview

The game was played at a fast pace from the opening tip. Brasília took a 28-20 lead after the first quarter and maintained a narrow advantage through halftime. The third quarter was tight, but Brasília created separation in the fourth with timely three-point shooting and disciplined free-throw shooting.

Brasília’s quarter splits were 28-20, 24-23, 27-26, and 25-23. The final score of 104-92 reflected the offensive quality on display, but Brasília’s ability to get stops in key moments proved just as important as their scoring.

How Brasília built the win

Brasília’s offense was efficient and balanced. They moved the ball well, attacked closeouts, and found open shooters on the perimeter. When Corinthians tried to switch defenses, Brasília responded with quick ball reversal and aggressive drives to the rim.

The home side also controlled the tempo. They pushed in transition when the opportunity was there but remained patient in the half-court when Corinthians slowed the game. That flexibility allowed Brasília to keep scoring even as Corinthians adjusted.

Key moments

• Opening burst: Brasília started with a 10-2 run and led 28-20 after the first quarter.
• Second-quarter response: Corinthians cut the deficit to four, but Brasília answered with back-to-back three-pointers before halftime.
• Third-quarter exchange: The teams traded baskets for most of the third, with Brasília preserving a narrow lead.
• Fourth-quarter closeout: Brasília opened the final period with a 9-2 run and never let Corinthians closer than eight points again.

Tactical story

Brasília’s spacing was excellent. They kept the floor open, allowing their guards to attack one-on-one and creating driving lanes. Corinthians struggled to contain dribble penetration, which led to help rotations and open perimeter looks for Brasília.

Defensively, Brasília focused on limiting Corinthians’ transition game. They got back on defense, contested shots, and forced Corinthians into contested half-court possessions. The visitors still scored 92 points, but Brasília’s ability to get timely stops in the fourth quarter made the difference.

Standout performers

Brasília’s backcourt controlled the game with scoring and playmaking, while the frontcourt provided rebounding and interior defense. The bench also contributed important minutes, helping Brasília maintain its energy and pace throughout the contest.

Corinthians’ top scorers kept the visitors within reach for three quarters, but the team’s defense could not get enough stops down the stretch. The loss was a reminder that in the NBB, offensive firepower alone is not always enough against a balanced opponent.

Standings impact

The win boosts CAIXA Brasília Basquete in the Novo Basquete Brasil standings and gives them a quality result against a well-known opponent. In a league where home court can be decisive, protecting home advantage is essential, and Brasília did exactly that.

For Corinthians, the defeat provides clear areas for improvement, particularly on the defensive end. The head-to-head result also gives Brasília an early edge in any future tiebreaker discussion.
