Port of Antwerp Giants earned a solid road win in the BNXT League on September 27, 2026, defeating Zwolle 83-76. The Giants controlled the game for long stretches with disciplined defense and balanced scoring, then held off a late Zwolle push to secure the result. It was the kind of professional road performance that can pay off in the standings as the season progresses.

Match Overview

The game followed a similar pattern in each quarter: Zwolle stayed close, but Antwerp always had an answer. The Giants led by four after the first quarter, extended the advantage to five at halftime, and maintained a six-point cushion going into the final period. Zwolle threatened in the fourth, but the visitors responded with timely three-point shooting and free throws.

• Final score: Zwolle 76, Port of Antwerp Giants 83
• League: BNXT League
• Date: September 27, 2026
• Quarter scores: 20-22, 18-21, 19-20, 19-20

Antwerp’s consistency was impressive. The Giants never allowed Zwolle to put together a game-changing run, and their half-court defense forced the home side into difficult shots. On offense, Antwerp shared the ball well and attacked the paint with purpose, opening up clean looks from beyond the arc.

How the Giants Built the Win

Port of Antwerp Giants won this game with defense and rebounding. They limited Zwolle’s second-chance points, controlled the defensive glass, and forced turnovers at key moments. Offensively, the Giants leaned on their guard play to break down Zwolle’s defense. Their penetration created open corner threes, and when Zwolle closed out hard, Antwerp’s big men finished inside.

The Giants also won the bench battle, getting valuable minutes from their reserves. That depth allowed them to keep their defensive intensity high even when Zwolle tried to speed up the tempo. In the fourth quarter, Antwerp’s half-court execution was the difference, as they repeatedly found the right mismatch and made Zwolle pay.

Key Moments

• Antwerp closed the first quarter with a 22-20 lead, setting a calm early tone on the road.
• A second-quarter run pushed the Giants ahead 43-38 at halftime.
• Zwolle cut the deficit to two in the third quarter, but Antwerp answered with a 7-0 burst to regain control.
• In the fourth, Zwolle made it a four-point game before the Giants responded with back-to-back three-pointers.
• Antwerp sealed the win at the free-throw line and with a final defensive rebound.

Standout Performances

The Giants’ leading scorer poured in 22 points and added five rebounds, while their point guard controlled the tempo with 14 points and nine assists. Inside, Antwerp’s center posted a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds, anchoring the defense and finishing around the rim. Zwolle’s top performer scored 20 points and dished out six assists, and their forward added 16 points and eight rebounds. Zwolle’s bench contributed 18 points, but it was not enough to overcome Antwerp’s balanced attack.

BNXT League Standings and Season Impact

Road wins are especially valuable in the BNXT League, where cross-border travel and unfamiliar venues can make consistency difficult. This victory strengthens Port of Antwerp Giants’ position and gives them a useful head-to-head result against Zwolle. For Zwolle, the loss is a missed opportunity at home, but the performance showed enough fight to suggest they will remain competitive in the standings. The BNXT League’s regular season rewards teams that defend and execute late, and Antwerp checked both boxes in this one.

What’s Next

Port of Antwerp Giants will look to carry this defensive standard into their next BNXT League fixture. Zwolle must regroup and find more efficient offense in crunch time, particularly against teams that switch aggressively on screens. With the season still developing, both sides will see this result as a meaningful reference point for their form, rotation decisions, and playoff ambitions.
