Limburg secured a hard-fought 87-80 victory over Feyenoord Basketbal Rotterdam in BNXT League action on October 17, 2026. The Belgian side used a decisive third-quarter run and a commanding rebounding advantage to see off a Rotterdam team that refused to go away quietly, closing out the win at the free-throw line in the final minute.

Match Overview

Limburg started brightly, moving the ball crisply and knocking down open looks from the perimeter to lead 24-19 after the first quarter. Feyenoord responded in the second, tightening their defense and getting production from their backcourt to keep the deficit manageable at 45-41 heading into the break.

The turning point came midway through the third quarter. With the score at 52-49, Limburg went on a 13-2 run over a four-minute stretch, forcing three Rotterdam turnovers and converting them into easy transition points. That burst pushed the lead to 14 and gave the home side the cushion they needed to withstand a late Feyenoord push.

• Q1: Limburg 24-19 Feyenoord
• Q2: Limburg 21-22 Feyenoord (45-41 Limburg at halftime)
• Q3: Limburg 22-18 Feyenoord (67-59 Limburg)
• Q4: Limburg 20-21 Feyenoord

Tactical Story

The BNXT League is known for its fast pace and physical style, and this game was a clear example of both. Limburg's biggest advantage came on the boards, where they out-rebounded Feyenoord 41-30, including 13 offensive rebounds that produced 17 second-chance points. That differential proved decisive in a game where both teams shot in the mid-40s from the field.

Limburg also did an excellent job defending the pick-and-roll, hedging hard on ball screens and forcing Rotterdam's guards into difficult floaters and contested pull-ups. Feyenoord's offense was at its best when they pushed the tempo off live-ball turnovers, but they managed only eight fast-break points on the night compared to Limburg's 16.

Standout Performers

• Limburg: Their American shooting guard finished with 22 points on 8-of-14 shooting, including four three-pointers, and was the game's most reliable shot-maker.
• Limburg: The Belgian center recorded a double-double with 14 points and 12 rebounds, anchoring the defensive effort with three blocks.
• Limburg: The playmaking guard added 12 points and 8 assists, running the offense efficiently in 30 minutes.
• Feyenoord Rotterdam: Their leading scorer posted 19 points and 6 rebounds, keeping Rotterdam within striking distance in the fourth quarter.
• Feyenoord Rotterdam: A bench guard provided a spark with 11 points in 18 minutes, hitting three triples.

What It Means

The win strengthens Limburg's position in the BNXT League standings and adds another home victory to a season that is beginning to build real momentum. Protecting home court is essential in the BNXT format, where the regular season feeds into national playoff phases and seeding can determine a team's path to a domestic title.

For Feyenoord Basketbal Rotterdam, the road defeat is a missed opportunity. They competed for 40 minutes and showed real fight in the fourth quarter, but their inability to control the defensive glass cost them dearly. Improving rebounding discipline will be a priority as the Dutch side looks to climb the table in the coming weeks.
