Feyenoord Basketbal Rotterdam secured an 89-77 BNXT League home win over Belfius Mons on October 25, 2026, powered by a decisive third-quarter run. The Rotterdam side combined efficient transition basketball with improved defensive intensity after halftime.

Match overview

Feyenoord led 22-20 after the first quarter and held a 43-39 advantage at halftime. Belfius Mons stayed close through the opening half, using patient offence and timely outside shooting to keep the game within reach. The contest changed in the third quarter, when Feyenoord accelerated the tempo and produced a 25-17 period to lead 68-56.

The visitors attempted to respond in the fourth, but Feyenoord managed the game well and kept the lead in double digits. The final 89-77 scoreline reflected the home side’s stronger second half and its ability to turn defensive stops into quick points.

Key moments

The key stretch came midway through the third quarter. Feyenoord forced several turnovers and attacked in transition, converting them into easy baskets. That run pushed the lead into double figures and forced Belfius Mons to call timeout.

Mons briefly threatened early in the fourth, but Feyenoord answered with a composed offensive possession and a timely three-pointer. From there, the hosts controlled the tempo and closed out the win with solid free-throw shooting.

Tactical story

Feyenoord’s transition game was the standout feature of the match. The hosts pushed the ball after every defensive rebound and attacked before Mons could set its half-court defence. That pace produced high-percentage looks and helped Feyenoord overcome some early shooting inconsistency.

Defensively, Feyenoord improved significantly after halftime, closing driving lanes and contesting perimeter shots. Belfius Mons had good moments in the half-court but struggled to match the hosts’ energy on the boards and in the open floor.

Standout performers

Feyenoord’s guards dictated the pace and made smart decisions in transition. The frontcourt added physicality on the glass and finished well around the basket. For Belfius Mons, the outside shooting and competitive spirit kept the team in contention, but the visitors could not contain Feyenoord’s third-quarter surge.

Season impact

The 89-77 victory is an important home result for Feyenoord Basketbal Rotterdam in the BNXT League and adds momentum to its season. Belfius Mons will look to bounce back, but the team showed enough in the first half to suggest it can compete in upcoming fixtures.

Ultimately, Feyenoord’s ability to raise the tempo in the third quarter decided the contest. The home side’s 89-77 win was built on transition scoring, defensive stops and a strong second-half response.
