Match overview

Liege started brightly and found success inside, but Den Bosch's ball movement created open perimeter looks and kept the home defense guessing. The visitors led 22-18 after the first quarter, only for Liege to edge the second and trim the gap. Den Bosch then delivered the game's most important stretch in the third, tightening its defense and converting turnovers into quick points.

Quarter scoring: Belgacom Liege Basket 18-19-16-18—71; Eiffeltowers Den Bosch 22-16-23-19—80.

Key moments

A 12-2 run early in the third quarter turned a close game into a 55-43 Den Bosch advantage. Liege responded with a 7-0 spurt of its own and cut the deficit to single digits in the fourth, but Den Bosch answered with a corner three and a pair of free throws. The visitors' poise in the final three minutes denied Liege a chance to complete the comeback.

Tactical story

Den Bosch's half-court offense was efficient, with quick ball reversals and timely cuts creating space. Liege tried to slow the tempo and attack the offensive glass, and that approach worked in patches, but the home side committed too many live-ball turnovers. Den Bosch's transition defense also limited easy Liege baskets, forcing the hosts into contested jump shots late in the clock.

Standout players

Den Bosch's wing scorer led the visitors with 22 points and hit several important shots in the third quarter. The team's point guard controlled the pace and finished with eight assists, while the bench provided a spark on the defensive end. For Liege, the interior duo combined for 30 points and kept the game competitive, but the home side lacked the same late-game execution.

Standings and season impact

The win strengthens Den Bosch's position in the BNXT League standings and gives them a confidence boost on the road. Liege remain within reach of the teams above them, but this result highlights the importance of protecting home court in a competitive cross-border league. The two sides will look to build on different lessons from the same game.
