KK Borac Banja Luka defeated Zrinjski 76-66 on October 13, 2026, in the BIH Prvenstvo League, using a balanced offensive attack and a strong fourth quarter to secure the home win. The victory reinforces Borac’s reputation as one of the toughest teams to beat on its own floor and adds another important result in the early race for playoff positioning.

Zrinjski stayed competitive through three quarters, leaning on perimeter shooting and aggressive drives. But Borac’s size inside and disciplined half-court defense gradually took control. The home side won the rebounding battle, limited second-chance points, and made the key plays in the final five minutes.

Match Overview

The first quarter was closely contested, with Borac taking a three-point lead. The home side extended its advantage slightly in the second quarter, entering halftime ahead 39-34. Zrinjski cut the deficit to five in the third, but Borac answered with a 12-2 run early in the fourth to put the game away.

• Third quarter: KK Borac Banja Luka 17, Zrinjski 15
• Fourth quarter: KK Borac Banja Luka 20, Zrinjski 17

Borac’s offense was efficient in the paint, where its big men consistently finished through contact. The team also moved the ball well, creating open looks from the corners. Zrinjski’s offense relied heavily on jump shots, and when those stopped falling in the fourth quarter, the visitors could not keep pace.

Key Moments

The decisive stretch came with just under seven minutes left in the fourth quarter. Leading by five, Borac scored 12 of the next 14 points, capped by a powerful dunk from its center and a transition three from the wing. That run pushed the lead to 15 and forced Zrinjski to call timeout. Although Zrinjski responded with a small run, Borac’s defense held firm and prevented any late drama.

A critical sequence occurred with three minutes remaining when Borac’s point guard stripped the ball from a Zrinjski driver and turned it into an easy layup on the other end. That play effectively ended the visitors’ comeback hopes and energized the home crowd.

Standout Performers

KK Borac Banja Luka’s center was the game’s dominant force, finishing with 18 points and 14 rebounds. He controlled the paint on both ends and altered several Zrinjski shots. Borac’s point guard added 16 points and seven assists, while the starting small forward contributed 14 points, including three three-pointers.

Zrinjski’s best performer was its power forward, who scored 17 points and grabbed eight rebounds. The shooting guard added 13 points, but foul trouble limited his minutes in the second half. Zrinjski’s bench gave solid effort, yet the team’s inability to match Borac’s physicality inside proved costly.

Season Impact

With the win, KK Borac Banja Luka strengthen their standing in the BIH Prvenstvo League and continue to build momentum at home. Zrinjski leave with a respectable road effort but will need to improve their late-game execution. The result adds another layer to the league’s competitive landscape, where home-court advantage is already shaping the early table.
