Namur Women produced a statement performance in Belgium’s Woman’s Div 1, overwhelming Declercq-Stortbeton Waregem Women 95-43. The 52-point victory was one of the most emphatic results of the round and underlined Namur’s quality on both ends of the court.

Match overview

Namur set the tone from the opening minutes, applying intense defensive pressure and moving the ball quickly in attack. Waregem struggled to settle into their half-court offense, while Namur capitalized on turnovers and defensive rebounds to score in transition.

The hosts built a commanding lead early and never allowed Waregem to find a sustained rhythm. Namur’s bench also made an impact, maintaining the team’s energy and defensive standards throughout the game. By the final quarter, the outcome was no longer in doubt.

Key moments

An early scoring run gave Namur control and forced Waregem to play from behind. The hosts’ defensive intensity created repeated stops, and their ball movement produced open looks from the perimeter and around the basket. Waregem had brief positive moments, but Namur always had an answer.

In the second half, Namur continued to dominate the boards and push the tempo. The lead grew steadily, and the hosts were able to rotate their lineup while maintaining the same level of execution. The final margin reflected their superiority across all four quarters.

Tactical story

Namur’s defense was the foundation of the win. The hosts contested shots, forced turnovers and limited Waregem’s second-chance opportunities. On offense, Namur shared the ball well and attacked with purpose, creating high-percentage looks both inside and beyond the arc.

Waregem’s half-court offense struggled against Namur’s pressure. The visitors were often forced into difficult shots and could not control the defensive glass. Namur’s ability to turn defense into quick offense was a recurring theme throughout the game.

Standout performers

Namur received contributions across the roster, with the backcourt setting the tempo and the frontcourt controlling the paint. The bench added energy and scoring, ensuring there was no drop-off when substitutions were made. For Waregem, the result was a tough night, but there were still moments of effort that can be built upon.

Season impact

The 95-43 win is a major confidence boost for Namur Women in the Belgium Woman’s Div 1 standings. It improves their point differential and sends a clear message about their ambitions for the season. Declercq-Stortbeton Waregem Women will need to regroup quickly, focusing on ball security and defensive rebounding ahead of their next fixture.
