Kortrijk Women Demolish Charleroi Women 100-34 in Belgium Women's Div 1 Blowout

Kortrijk, Belgium — Kortrijk Women produced one of the most emphatic performances of the Belgium Women's Div 1 season, dismantling Charleroi Women 100-34 on Sunday evening. The hosts crossed the century mark in front of their own fans, combining relentless full-court pressure with red-hot shooting to turn the fixture into a rout well before the final buzzer.

Match Overview

There was little suspense in this one. Kortrijk set the tone from the opening tip, racing into an early lead behind aggressive on-ball defense and quick transition offense. Charleroi struggled to advance the ball past half court under pressure, and the resulting turnovers fed a Kortrijk scoring machine that never slowed down.

The 66-point winning margin reflects a complete mismatch on the night. Kortrijk dominated every statistical category — shooting percentage, rebounds, assists, steals, and points in the paint — while Charleroi were limited to one of their lowest totals of the campaign.

Quarter-by-Quarter Breakdown

• First quarter: Kortrijk pressed high, forced early turnovers, and built a commanding lead within minutes.
• Second quarter: The hosts extended the advantage with sharp perimeter shooting and dominant rebounding at both ends.
• Third quarter: Any hope of a Charleroi response vanished as Kortrijk's bench players maintained the same intensity as the starters.
• Fourth quarter: Kortrijk pushed past 100 points, closing out a performance that will be remembered as a statement win.

Tactical Story

Kortrijk's game plan was simple and executed ruthlessly: pressure the ball, deny easy entry passes, and run at every opportunity. Charleroi's guards were hounded into hurried decisions, and the visitors' half-court offense rarely produced a clean look inside the shot clock.

On the offensive end, Kortrijk shared the ball beautifully. Extra passes found open shooters on the wing, and when Charleroi scrambled to close out, the hosts attacked the closeouts and finished at the rim. The rebounding battle was equally one-sided, giving Kortrijk a steady stream of second-chance points and keeping Charleroi pinned in their own half.

Perhaps most impressive was the depth. With the game decided early, Kortrijk rotated freely and lost nothing in quality — a sign of a squad with genuine strength beyond its starting five and a headache for opponents later in the season.

Standout Performers

Every Kortrijk player who stepped on the floor contributed. The guards dictated tempo and harassed Charleroi's ball handlers into mistakes, the wings shot efficiently from beyond the arc, and the interior players controlled the glass and finished consistently around the basket. Reaching 100 points in a 40-minute game requires collective efficiency, and this was very much a team performance rather than a one-woman show.

For Charleroi, it was a night to forget. The visitors showed flashes of fight in transition but were overwhelmed physically and tactically. Their coaching staff will focus on ball security and half-court structure ahead of the next fixture.

Season Impact

A win of this magnitude sends a clear message across the Belgium Women's Div 1. Kortrijk Women have signalled that they intend to be a force at the top of the table, and their scoring power and defensive pressure make them a difficult proposition for any opponent — particularly at home.

The 100-point landmark also carries momentum value. Confidence is contagious in basketball, and teams that can score in the hundreds while holding opponents to the low thirties tend to carry that belief into tougher matchups. For Charleroi, the priority now is damage limitation on morale and a quick reset before the next round of fixtures.
