Pallacanestro Reggiana secured a composed 82–65 victory over BK Pardubice in the Basketball Champions League, combining disciplined half-court offense with a defensive effort that never allowed the Czech visitors to find a foothold. The 17-point margin reflects a game Reggiana controlled from the second quarter onward, built on efficient shooting and intelligent shot selection.

Match Overview

Reggiana started brightly, racing to a 22–14 lead after the first quarter behind sharp perimeter shooting and aggressive drives to the rim. Pardubice responded with a more competitive second period, but the Italian side's defensive consistency kept the gap intact at 41–31 by halftime. The decisive stretch came in the third quarter, when Reggiana stretched their advantage with a 21–16 run that effectively removed the visitors from the contest.

The fourth quarter was managed with maturity, as Reggiana rotated their bench and protected the lead without ever abandoning their defensive principles. Pardubice kept competing until the final buzzer, but the gap never narrowed to a point where the outcome felt in doubt.

Tactical Story

Reggiana's approach was textbook European basketball: patient ball movement, penetration into the lane to collapse the defense, and then a kick-out pass to a shooter in rhythm. They consistently generated good looks rather than settling for contested attempts, and that efficiency showed in the balanced scoring column.

Defensively, the Italians switched effectively on screens and forced Pardubice into late-clock situations. The Czech side's offense often stalled around the perimeter, and their attempts to attack the basket were met by help defense and physical rebounding. Reggiana's control on the defensive glass limited second-chance points to a minimum, which is precisely how a moderate shooting night still becomes a comfortable win.

Standout Performers

Reggiana's scoring was spread across the rotation, with their wings providing the bulk of the perimeter production and their frontcourt battling hard on the boards. The point guard's control of tempo was central to the win, particularly during the third-quarter run that broke the game open. Off the bench, Reggiana found real energy and rebounding that kept the intensity from dropping.

Pardubice's best spell came in the second quarter, when their guards attacked in transition and briefly cut into the deficit. However, they lacked a sustained inside presence to punish Reggiana's switching defense, and their outside shooting was streaky at best.

Season Impact and Group Context

This result strengthens Reggiana's standing in their Basketball Champions League group and adds a healthy margin to their point differential, which could prove decisive in tiebreak scenarios. For Pardubice, the defeat leaves them needing home wins to stay in contention, and their road form will be a major talking point going forward.

What's Next

Reggiana will look to replicate this defensive standard in their next continental fixture, while Pardubice must find more reliable scoring options to compete away from home in a demanding group.
