Samaheej delivered a commanding performance in the Bahrain Cup on Wednesday, powering past Al Hala 111-72 behind a relentless offensive display and a defense that frustrated their opponents from the opening minutes. The triple-digit total and the 39-point margin underlined the gap in execution between the two sides on the night.

Match Overview

From the first possession, Samaheej played with intent. The team pushed the pace, attacked the rim with purpose, and moved the ball unselfishly to find open shooters on the perimeter. Al Hala were unable to match that intensity, and the game quickly developed into a one-sided affair.

Cup basketball often rewards teams that can impose their style early, and Samaheej did exactly that. Their defensive pressure disrupted Al Hala's half-court sets, forced contested shots, and created the kind of transition opportunities that turn a close game into a blowout.

How the Game Unfolded

The opening quarter set the tone. Samaheej raced to a 30-16 lead, converting early steals into layups and knocking down open looks when Al Hala collapsed into the paint. The second quarter followed a similar pattern, with the hosts — playing with visible confidence — adding 28 points while limiting their opponents to 18 to take a 58-34 advantage into the halftime break.

Al Hala found a little more rhythm in the third quarter, moving the ball better and creating some quality looks inside. But Samaheej answered every mini-run with a scoring burst of their own, winning the period 27-20. The fourth quarter was played with the result beyond doubt, yet Samaheej kept their foot on the gas, closing out the game 26-18 to reach 111 points.

Quarter-by-Quarter

• Q1: Samaheej 30-16 Al Hala
• Q2: Samaheej 28-18 Al Hala (halftime: 58-34)
• Q3: Samaheej 27-20 Al Hala
• Q4: Samaheej 26-18 Al Hala (final: 111-72)

Standout Performers

Samaheej's offense was built on balance rather than a single dominant scorer. Guards controlled the tempo and consistently found the open man, while the frontcourt finished strongly at the rim and dominated the boards at both ends. The result was a game in which nearly every rotation player contributed to the scoreline.

For Al Hala, the night was a difficult one. There were encouraging moments — a few well-executed offensive sets and some determined individual drives — but the team could not sustain any momentum. Defensive breakdowns in transition proved especially costly, and the rebounding battle tilted firmly in Samaheej's favor.

What It Means in the Bahrain Cup

Cup competitions are often decided by momentum and confidence, and Samaheej will take plenty of both from this result. A 111-point performance is a clear statement of intent, and the manner of the win — built on defense, ball movement, and depth — suggests the team is well-equipped for the challenges ahead in the tournament.

Al Hala will look to regroup quickly. Cup basketball rarely offers much time for reflection, and the focus will immediately shift to tightening up defensively and finding more consistent scoring options. The talent is there; the challenge is turning individual moments into a complete 40-minute performance.
