TryHoop Okayama produced a commanding road performance in the B2 League on October 4, 2026, defeating Veltex Shizuoka 94-73. The visitors took control in the second quarter and never looked back, using a balanced scoring attack and aggressive defense to hand Shizuoka a decisive home loss.

Match Overview

Okayama set the tone early with a 24-16 first quarter, then blew the game open with a 25-18 second period to take a 49-34 halftime lead. The third quarter was more competitive, but TryHoop still outscored Shizuoka 23-20 to extend the margin to 72-54. A 22-19 fourth quarter completed the 21-point victory.

Veltex Shizuoka struggled to find offensive rhythm throughout the afternoon. The home side had brief spurts in the third quarter, but Okayama’s defense consistently disrupted Shizuoka’s half-court sets and forced difficult shots late in the clock.

Key Moments

The game’s decisive stretch came midway through the second quarter. Leading 30-24, TryHoop Okayama went on a 13-2 run over four minutes, fueled by back-to-back three-pointers and a pair of fast-break layups. That surge pushed the lead to 43-26 and forced Shizuoka into a timeout.

Shizuoka responded with a modest 6-0 run to close the half, but Okayama opened the third quarter with a 7-2 burst to restore a comfortable cushion. From there, the visitors controlled the tempo and never allowed the lead to dip below 15 points in the final quarter.

Tactical Story

Okayama’s offensive approach was patient and efficient. The team moved the ball from side to side, attacked closeouts, and generated open looks from beyond the arc. Inside, their big men controlled the defensive glass, limiting Shizuoka’s second-chance points and igniting transition opportunities.

Veltex Shizuoka, by contrast, relied heavily on isolation basketball. When the first option was taken away, the offense stalled, leading to contested jumpers and turnovers. Shizuoka’s defense also struggled to contain Okayama’s dribble penetration, which repeatedly collapsed the defense and created kick-out threes. The rebounding battle and assist-to-turnover ratio both tilted heavily in Okayama’s favor.

Standout Players

• TryHoop Okayama backcourt: The guards dictated pace, knocked down open threes, and consistently found teammates in transition.
• TryHoop Okayama frontcourt: Dominant on the boards and efficient around the rim, the Okayama bigs gave Shizuoka problems on both ends.
• Veltex Shizuoka: Despite the loss, the home side’s top scorer showed flashes of individual brilliance, but received limited support in the half-court.

Standings and Season Impact

This 94-73 win is a strong statement for TryHoop Okayama in the B2 League promotion race. Road victories of this magnitude can swing momentum early in the season and signal that Okayama intends to be a factor at the top of the table.

For Veltex Shizuoka, the loss exposes areas that need immediate attention: half-court execution, defensive communication, and rebounding discipline. The B2 season is long, but dropping home games by more than 20 points puts added pressure on upcoming road trips. Shizuoka will need to regroup quickly to avoid falling too far behind the early pace-setters.
