Koshigaya Alphas rolled to a convincing 89-67 home victory over Kagoshima Rebnise in B2 League play on October 4, 2026. The Alphas dominated from the opening quarter, using stifling defense and efficient offense to build a lead that was never seriously threatened.

Match Overview

Koshigaya came out firing, taking a 26-14 lead after the first quarter. The Alphas extended the advantage to 47-31 by halftime and pushed it to 68-50 after three quarters. A comfortable 21-17 fourth quarter sealed the 22-point win, giving the home crowd plenty to cheer about.

Kagoshima Rebnise never found a consistent offensive rhythm. The visitors shot poorly from the perimeter and struggled to finish inside against Koshigaya’s size. Defensively, Kagoshima could not contain the Alphas’ balanced attack, which featured contributions from the starting five and the bench.

Key Moments

The game was effectively decided in the first eight minutes. Koshigaya opened with a 12-2 run, forcing Kagoshima into an early timeout. The Alphas’ defensive pressure created turnovers and quick transition baskets, while their half-court offense patiently exploited mismatches inside.

Kagoshima briefly cut the deficit to 14 points early in the third quarter, but Koshigaya answered with a 10-2 run to push the lead back to 22. Any hope of a Rebnise comeback was extinguished by the end of the third, and the Alphas cruised through the final period.

Tactical Story

Koshigaya’s defense was the story of the game. The Alphas switched screens effectively, closed out hard on shooters, and forced Kagoshima into low-percentage shots. On the glass, Koshigaya controlled both ends, limiting second-chance points and generating extra possessions.

Offensively, the Alphas played unselfish basketball. They moved the ball quickly, attacked closeouts, and consistently found the open man. Kagoshima, meanwhile, relied on isolation plays that too often ended in contested jumpers. The Rebnise also struggled in transition defense, allowing Koshigaya to score easy baskets after long rebounds and turnovers.

Standout Players

• Koshigaya Alphas defense: The entire unit deserves credit for a collective performance that held Kagoshima to 67 points and forced numerous empty possessions.
• Koshigaya Alphas bench: The reserves maintained intensity and extended the lead, showing the depth that will be important over the long B2 season.
• Kagoshima Rebnise: The visitors’ leading scorer battled throughout, but limited spacing and turnovers prevented any sustained run.

Standings and Season Impact

For Koshigaya Alphas, this is exactly the kind of home result that builds momentum. The win improves their early-season positioning in the B2 League and reinforces the value of defensive consistency. If the Alphas can bring this level of energy on the road, they will be a tough opponent all season.

Kagoshima Rebnise leave with clear areas to address: perimeter shooting, ball security, and defensive rebounding. The Rebnise have the talent to compete, but performances like this show how quickly games can slip away when the half-court offense stalls. They will need a sharper effort in their next outing to get back on track.
