Koshigaya Alphas delivered a dominant road performance in the B2 League on Sunday, defeating Earth Friends Tokyo Z 93-65. The Alphas controlled the game from the opening quarter, using disciplined defense and efficient perimeter shooting to pull away for a convincing 28-point win.

Koshigaya Build an Early Lead

The Alphas set the tone with active hands and smart rotations, forcing Earth Friends Tokyo Z into contested shots and turnovers. Offensively, Koshigaya moved the ball well and found open shooters on the perimeter. Earth Friends struggled to keep pace, and the Alphas built a double-digit lead before the end of the first quarter.

The second quarter followed a similar pattern. Koshigaya’s bench maintained the intensity, while Tokyo Z’s half-court offense stalled. By halftime, the visitors had established firm control and had forced the home side into a difficult uphill battle.

Key Moments That Decided the Game

• A 14-2 run in the first quarter gave Koshigaya an early cushion that never seriously threatened.
• Koshigaya opened the third quarter with three consecutive three-pointers, pushing the lead beyond 20 points.
• Tokyo Z’s attempts to pressure full-court were repeatedly beaten for easy baskets, ending any hope of a late run.

Tactical Story: Spacing and Shot Quality

Koshigaya’s offense was built on spacing and quick decisions. The Alphas consistently drew help defenders and then punished the rotation with skip passes and corner threes. Their guards controlled the pace, ensuring the team played with purpose rather than rushing possessions. Defensively, Koshigaya limited second-chance points and forced Tokyo Z into low-percentage attempts.

Earth Friends Tokyo Z, by contrast, struggled to generate clean looks. Their offense became predictable, and Koshigaya’s defense was happy to concede contested mid-range shots while protecting the paint. The rebounding edge and turnover margin both favored the visitors, explaining much of the final scoreline.

Standout Performers

Koshigaya guard Riku Hayashi led all scorers with 23 points and five assists, consistently finding seams in Tokyo Z’s defense. Forward Cameron Davis added 20 points and 13 rebounds, controlling the interior, while the Alphas’ bench contributed timely shooting. For Earth Friends Tokyo Z, Yuto Kobayashi finished with 16 points, but support was limited on a difficult afternoon.

What It Means for the B2 League Table

The result gives Koshigaya Alphas an important road win and reinforces their push in the B2 League promotion race. Earth Friends Tokyo Z will need to regroup quickly, especially on the defensive end, where the Alphas exposed gaps in rotation and transition coverage. With the B2 League season moving into a crucial stretch, Koshigaya’s depth and shot quality look increasingly valuable.
