Veltex Shizuoka edged Bambitious Nara 85-81 in B2 League action on 18 October 2026, surviving a determined home push from Nara with timely shot-making and free-throw discipline in the closing minutes. The road win gives Shizuoka another important result in the crowded B2 standings.

Match overview

Bambitious Nara fed off their home crowd early, moving the ball quickly and finding open looks from the perimeter. Veltex Shizuoka answered with a more physical approach, attacking the basket and drawing fouls to stay in contact. The first half was a trade of runs, with neither team able to build a double-digit advantage.

The game remained tight into the fourth quarter. Nara briefly took the lead on a fast-break basket, but Veltex responded with a composed possession that ended in an open three. From there, Shizuoka’s defense tightened, forcing Nara into contested shots and limiting second-chance points.

Key moments

The decisive sequence was a 7-0 Veltex run midway through the final quarter. Shizuoka combined an offensive rebound with a transition finish and a pull-up jumper to swing the momentum. Nara had opportunities to tie the game late, but a turnover and two missed three-point attempts allowed Veltex to close the game at the free-throw line.

• Veltex’s late 7-0 run created the separation needed to win on the road.
• Nara’s outside shooting cooled in the fourth quarter after a strong first half.
• Shizuoka’s free-throw shooting in the final minute protected the lead.

Standout players

Veltex guard Daichi Kobayashi helped steady the offense in the second half, making several important decisions against Nara’s pressure. Shizuoka’s import frontcourt also made a difference on the glass, especially during the fourth-quarter run. For Nara, Kaito Morita kept the hosts in the game with aggressive drives and perimeter shooting, but the home side could not find one more late scoring burst.

Season impact

In the B2 League, road victories are often the difference between staying in the promotion conversation and falling into the middle pack. Veltex Shizuoka’s win at Bambitious Nara adds valuable momentum, while Nara will focus on late-game execution after letting a close contest slip away at home. The result underlines how narrow the margins can be in B2, where a single fourth-quarter run can decide the outcome.
