Kapfenberg Bulls put on an offensive clinic at home, defeating Basket Club Vienna 101-80 in the Austrian Basketball Superliga on October 27, 2026. The Bulls crossed the century mark behind a balanced attack and a dominant second-quarter surge that turned the game into a comfortable victory.

Match overview

Kapfenberg opened with a 26-18 first quarter and then used a 24-21 second period to take a 50-39 lead into halftime. The Bulls truly broke the game open in the third, outscoring Vienna 27-20 to extend the margin to 77-59. The home side kept their foot on the gas in the fourth, adding 24 points and closing out a 101-80 win. Vienna never found a consistent answer on defense, as Kapfenberg’s ball movement created open looks throughout the night.

Key moments

The decisive run came late in the first quarter and early in the second, when the Bulls scored 12 unanswered points to turn a tight game into a double-digit advantage. Vienna called timeout, but Kapfenberg’s momentum continued. Another 10-2 burst midway through the third quarter pushed the lead past 20 and effectively ended any hopes of a comeback.

Tactical story

Kapfenberg’s offense was built on quick ball reversals and aggressive drives that collapsed Vienna’s defense. The Bulls dominated the rebounding battle, generated second-chance points, and ran in transition whenever the opportunity arose. Defensively, they pressured the ball and forced Vienna into turnovers, which fueled their fast-break attack. Vienna had some success in the half court but could not match Kapfenberg’s intensity or depth over four quarters.

Standout performers

The Bulls’ scoring was spread across the roster, with multiple players reaching double figures and the bench contributing significantly. Kapfenberg’s guards controlled the pace, while their big men controlled the paint. For Basket Club Vienna, the effort remained positive, but the defensive breakdowns and rebounding deficit proved too costly against a team shooting with such confidence.

Season impact

The 101-80 win is a strong statement from Kapfenberg Bulls and adds valuable momentum in the Austrian Basketball Superliga standings. It also highlights their scoring depth and ability to close out games decisively. Basket Club Vienna will need to regroup defensively and find ways to limit opposing runs before their next fixture.
