DBB LZ OO Women produced the most convincing performance of the Austria Women's BDSL round, beating UBI Graz Women 73-47 on the road. The 26-point victory was built on defensive intensity and excellent perimeter shooting, and it left the home side searching for answers after a one-sided contest.

From the opening tip, DBB LZ OO controlled the tempo, denied Graz easy looks and punished every mistake. By halftime the game was effectively decided, and the second half served as a demonstration of the visitors' depth and composure.

Match overview

The visitors started brightly, moving the ball with purpose and knocking down open shots as Graz struggled to close out on the perimeter. A strong first quarter gave DBB LZ OO an early cushion, and a dominant second period stretched the lead beyond 20 points. Graz showed flashes of resistance in the third quarter, but the margin never came back within reach.

How the game was won

Defence was the foundation of this win. DBB LZ OO rotated sharply, closed driving lanes and communicated well on screens, forcing Graz into difficult, contested attempts. On the glass, the visitors were equally dominant, restricting second-chance opportunities and launching fast breaks from defensive rebounds.

• Perimeter shooting: DBB LZ OO converted open looks at a high rate, stretching the Graz defence throughout.
• Transition game: Defensive stops turned into quick points at the other end, a recurring theme of the night.
• Balanced scoring: Points came from across the rotation, making the visitors difficult to defend.
• Consistency: DBB LZ OO scored at least 17 points in every quarter, evidence of sustained intensity.

Tactical story

Graz attempted to establish an inside presence early, but DBB LZ OO's compact defensive shape made post entry passes difficult and forced the home side to settle for outside shots. When Graz did break through, the visitors' help defence arrived quickly, contesting at the rim without conceding fouls.

Offensively, DBB LZ OO played with patience and intelligence. Ball reversals created driving lanes, and their shooters were consistently ready to fire in rhythm. That combination of discipline and shot-making is exactly what turns a competitive game into a comfortable win.

Season impact and look ahead

This result gives DBB LZ OO Women a significant boost in the Austria Women's BDSL standings and adds a convincing entry to their head-to-head record with UBI Graz. The margin of victory also provides a useful points-difference advantage should tiebreakers come into play later in the season.

For UBI Graz Women, the focus must be on offence. Scoring 47 points across four quarters will rarely be enough at this level, and their coaching staff will be looking for better ball movement, more aggressive rim attacks and improved shot selection. The talent is there; the execution was not on this occasion. DBB LZ OO, by contrast, look like a team capable of making real noise in the competition this season.
