Ferrocarril Oeste Women Dominate Regatas San Nicolas Women 91-49

Ferrocarril Oeste Women produced one of the most commanding performances of the Argentina Women's LLF round, defeating Regatas San Nicolas Women 91-49 on October 23, 2026. The home side were relentless from the opening tip, combining intense defense with fluid offense to build an insurmountable lead.

The 42-point margin underlined Ferrocarril Oeste's depth and scoring balance. Regatas San Nicolas struggled to cope with the pressure, especially in the first half, and were forced into difficult shots and turnovers throughout the contest.

Match Overview

The scoring by quarter showed Ferrocarril Oeste's dominance across the full game:

• First quarter: Ferrocarril Oeste 24-12
• Second quarter: Ferrocarril Oeste 23-10
• Third quarter: Ferrocarril Oeste 25-14
• Fourth quarter: Ferrocarril Oeste 19-13

The second quarter effectively decided the game. Ferrocarril Oeste opened the period with a 16-2 run, turning a 12-point lead into a 26-point cushion. Regatas San Nicolas never recovered, as the home team's defensive pressure disrupted their rhythm and created repeated fast-break opportunities.

Key Moments

Ferrocarril Oeste set the tone with a 9-0 start, forcing Regatas San Nicolas into early turnovers and contested attempts. The home team's guards pushed the pace after every defensive rebound, preventing Regatas from setting their half-court defense. When Regatas tried to slow the game down, Ferrocarril Oeste's half-court execution remained sharp, with patient ball movement creating open looks.

The third quarter brought more of the same. Ferrocarril Oeste delivered a 12-3 run early in the period, extending the lead beyond 30 points and allowing the bench to play meaningful minutes. Regatas showed brief flashes of resistance in the fourth quarter, but the outcome was already settled.

Tactical Story

Ferrocarril Oeste's defensive pressure was the defining tactical feature. They denied easy entry passes, rotated quickly on the perimeter, and forced Regatas into rushed decisions. The rebounding battle was equally one-sided, with Ferrocarril Oeste winning numerous second-chance possessions and limiting Regatas to very few offensive rebounds.

Offensively, Ferrocarril Oeste shared the ball exceptionally well. Their spacing created driving lanes, and their guards consistently found open shooters when Regatas collapsed into the paint. Regatas San Nicolas, meanwhile, struggled to generate clean looks and were often forced to score against a set defense.

Standout Performers

Julieta Ferrari led Ferrocarril Oeste with 21 points and controlled the game from the backcourt. Micaela Rios added 16 points and several assists, while Sofia Alvarez contributed 12 points and dominant rebounding. The bench also made an impact, maintaining the team's defensive intensity and extending the lead in the second half.

For Regatas San Nicolas Women, Valentina Cruz finished with 13 points and Camila Ortiz added 10. Both players competed hard, but the team's overall shooting and ball security were not enough against a Ferrocarril Oeste side operating at full speed.

Season Impact

The 91-49 result gives Ferrocarril Oeste Women a major boost in the Argentina Women's LLF standings and reinforces their credentials as a team capable of decisive wins. Their defensive pressure and balanced scoring make them difficult to contain when they control the tempo. Regatas San Nicolas will need to regroup quickly, focus on limiting turnovers, and find more consistent offense in their next fixture.
