El Talar responded in the third, using its interior presence to cut into the lead, but Union Florida still carried a 51-49 advantage into the fourth. The final period was a possession-by-possession battle, and Union Florida’s composure at the free-throw line proved decisive.

Key moments

El Talar trimmed the deficit to 63-62 with under two minutes remaining, bringing the home crowd into the game. Union Florida answered with a composed baseline jumper and later added two free throws after drawing a foul on the inbound play. Needing a three-pointer to tie, El Talar forced a contested look from beyond the arc, but the shot missed and Union Florida secured the rebound to close out the win.

Tactical story

Both teams prioritized defense, making every basket feel important. Union Florida’s guard play was the difference in the half court: the visitors controlled tempo, limited turnovers and found open shooters when El Talar collapsed into the paint. El Talar’s advantage came on the offensive glass and in the post, where its size created second-chance opportunities. However, the home side’s outside shooting was inconsistent, and Union Florida’s switching defense forced several late-clock attempts.

Standout performers

Union Florida’s backcourt controlled the game and delivered key baskets in the fourth quarter, while the team’s overall free-throw shooting held up under pressure. El Talar’s interior players kept the team in the game with rebounding and paint scoring, but the hosts needed one more perimeter shot to fall in the final minute. The narrow margin reflected how evenly matched the sides were for much of the night.

What the result means

For Union Florida Women, the 67-64 road win is a valuable result in the Argentina Women’s LLF standings and a sign that the team can win close games away from home. For El Talar (W), the loss is a narrow one that will sting, but the performance showed resilience and a strong inside game. In a league where road victories are hard to come by, Union Florida’s late-game execution made the difference.
