Veramit Grind Out 56-52 Victory Over Pico Foot Ball Club

Veramit defeated Pico Foot Ball Club 56-52 in a low-scoring Argentina Liga Nacional basketball contest on October 21, 2026. The game was a defensive struggle from start to finish, with neither team able to find consistent offensive rhythm, and Veramit’s composure in the final minutes proved decisive.

The win is a valuable one in the Argentina Liga Nacional standings, especially in a game where scoring came at a premium. Veramit’s ability to protect the ball and make timely shots in the fourth quarter separated the sides, while Pico Foot Ball Club was left ruing missed opportunities at the free-throw line and around the rim.

Game Flow

The first quarter set the tone for a physical, half-court battle. Both teams defended with intensity, contesting every shot and limiting easy looks. Veramit held a narrow 13-11 lead after the opening period, with Pico Foot Ball Club staying close through offensive rebounds and second-chance points.

The second quarter followed a similar pattern. Veramit’s guards found a few driving lanes, but Pico’s help defense was quick to rotate. At halftime, the game was still within a single possession, and it was clear that execution in the final quarter would decide the outcome.

• First quarter: Veramit 13, Pico Foot Ball Club 11
• Second quarter: Veramit 15, Pico Foot Ball Club 14
• Third quarter: Pico Foot Ball Club 13, Veramit 12
• Fourth quarter: Veramit 16, Pico Foot Ball Club 14
• Final score: Veramit 56, Pico Foot Ball Club 52

Key Moments

The decisive stretch arrived in the middle of the fourth quarter. With the score tied, Veramit forced a pair of turnovers and converted them into quick baskets. That short run gave them a cushion they would not surrender, even as Pico Foot Ball Club fought back with late baskets.

Pico had chances to level the game in the final minute, but a missed free throw and a contested jumper in traffic went begging. Veramit secured the defensive rebound on the final possession and ran out the clock to seal the four-point win.

Tactical Story

Veramit’s defense was the story of the game. They packed the paint, forced Pico into difficult mid-range shots, and limited clean looks from three-point range. Offensively, Veramit was patient, working the ball around until an opening appeared, and they made enough tough shots in the fourth quarter to win.

Pico Foot Ball Club’s defense was equally impressive for long stretches. They disrupted Veramit’s rhythm and forced several shot-clock violations, but their offense could not match that intensity. Missed free throws and empty possessions in the closing minutes proved costly.

Standout Performers

Veramit’s backcourt played a key role in the victory, controlling tempo and making smart decisions against pressure. Their frontcourt also contributed with timely rebounds and interior defense, especially in the final quarter when Pico tried to mount a comeback.

For Pico Foot Ball Club, the effort was led by their defensive intensity and rebounding. They competed on every possession, but they will need more consistent scoring from their perimeter players moving forward.

What It Means

The 56-52 win gives Veramit an important result in the Argentina Liga Nacional, particularly because it came in a game where offense was hard to come by. Winning ugly is often a sign of a team that can compete in tight contests, and Veramit showed that resilience on this occasion.

Pico Foot Ball Club will focus on execution in late-game situations and improving their free-throw shooting. Despite the loss, their defensive performance was encouraging. The challenge will be turning that defensive effort into more consistent offensive production in the next game.
