Rocamora protected home court with an 81-75 victory over Club Atletico River Plate in Argentina Liga Nacional action on October 27, 2026. The hosts led for much of the contest, withstood a late River Plate rally, and made the decisive plays on both ends in the final minutes.

Match overview

Rocamora opened the game with purpose, attacking the basket early and building a modest lead by the end of the first quarter. • Second quarter: Rocamora 19, River Plate 20
• Third quarter: Rocamora 21, River Plate 17

How Rocamora secured the win

Rocamora's best stretch came in the third quarter, when they pushed their lead to double digits with a patient half-court offense and aggressive offensive rebounding. River Plate tried to speed the game up, but Rocamora handled pressure well and consistently found the open man against the help defense.

The hosts finished with a balanced scoring line, which made them difficult to defend. When River Plate collapsed on the paint, Rocamora kicked the ball out for open perimeter looks; when the defense extended, the guards attacked the rim. That flexibility allowed Rocamora to keep scoring even as River Plate improved defensively in the fourth quarter.

Key moments

River Plate made the finish uncomfortable with a late 10-2 run, cutting the deficit to three points with under two minutes remaining. Rocamora responded with a crucial offensive rebound and a pair of free throws, then forced a contested three-pointer on the other end. The hosts closed the game at the line, denying River Plate the chance to complete the comeback.

A momentum-swinging sequence late in the third quarter also proved important: Rocamora blocked a shot at the rim and converted the resulting fast break, stretching the lead at a point when River Plate had been threatening to take control.

Standout performers

Federico Sosa led Rocamora with 20 points and eight rebounds, providing a steady interior presence throughout. Juan Pablo Vera added 16 points and five assists, while Lautaro Gomez chipped in 13 points off the bench, including a key three-pointer in the fourth quarter.

Club Atletico River Plate were paced by Ignacio Lopez with 19 points and Emiliano Castro with 17. River Plate's guards created good looks late, but the team's inability to secure defensive rebounds in key moments allowed Rocamora to maintain control.

What the result means

The win is an important home result for Rocamora in the Argentina Liga Nacional and highlights their depth and composure in close games. River Plate will take encouragement from their late fightback, but they will need to reduce the second-chance points they concede if they are to turn narrow losses into victories.
