Lanus LDD delivered a strong road performance to defeat Independiente de Oliva LDD 81-72 in Argentina Liga Nacional LDD action on October 20, 2026. The nine-point margin reflected Lanus’ control over key stretches of the game, particularly when the contest threatened to become a possession-by-possession battle in the second half.

Match overview

Independiente de Oliva LDD started with energy in front of its home crowd, but Lanus LDD gradually settled into the game and found a rhythm on both ends of the floor. The visitors moved the ball well, attacked the basket with purpose, and made enough perimeter shots to keep the defense honest. Defensively, Lanus limited Independiente’s easiest scoring chances and forced the hosts into contested attempts.

The final score of 81-72 gives Lanus a useful away win in the LDD competition, a league designed to develop young players through competitive minutes and meaningful responsibilities. For Independiente de Oliva, the game offered flashes of quality but also highlighted the kind of execution gaps that can decide tight developmental-league matchups.

How Lanus built the win

• Balanced scoring: Lanus spread the offensive load and avoided becoming predictable in the half court.
• Transition control: The visitors managed the pace well, preventing Independiente from generating easy fast-break points.
• Defensive pressure: Lanus’ pressure disrupted the hosts’ rhythm during the middle quarters.
• Closing composure: When Independiente made a push, Lanus responded with steady possessions and timely baskets.

Independiente’s response

Independiente de Oliva LDD remained competitive for long stretches and showed good fight on the offensive glass. The hosts found ways to score inside and drew fouls when driving to the basket, but they were unable to string together enough stops to fully erase Lanus’ advantage. The game remained within reach, yet Lanus consistently had an answer whenever the momentum shifted.

For a development side, those moments are valuable. Independiente’s players gained experience in a close, physical game against an opponent that executed better down the stretch. The challenge now is turning those lessons into more consistent performances on both ends.

Standout performers

Lanus’ guard play stood out, with the backcourt controlling tempo and making smart decisions in pick-and-roll situations. The team’s forwards contributed important work on the boards and defended multiple positions. Independiente’s best moments came from aggressive drives and interior scoring, with its younger rotation players showing confidence in expanded roles.

LDD context and season impact

The Argentina Liga Nacional LDD is a key development platform, and results like Lanus’ 81-72 road win matter for confidence and momentum. Lanus will take encouragement from the way it managed the game away from home, while Independiente de Oliva will focus on tightening its defense and improving execution in late-clock situations.

The game was not a blowout, but it was a clear example of how depth, composure, and defensive discipline can separate teams in the LDD. Lanus leaves with the win; Independiente leaves with useful film and a clear set of areas to address.
