Club Central Jounieh Dominate Al Rayyan 112-78 in Arab Nations Cup

Club Central Jounieh delivered a statement performance in the Arab Nations Cup on October 10, 2026, crushing Al Rayyan 112-78 behind a relentless offensive display. The 34-point win was one of the most lopsided results of the competition, and it showcased Jounieh's depth, shooting, and defensive pressure.

From the opening minutes, Jounieh played with pace and purpose. Al Rayyan had no answer for the full-court pressure or the quick ball movement, and the game quickly turned into a one-sided affair.

Match Overview

Jounieh set the tone immediately, racing to a 30-18 lead after the first quarter. Their defense forced early turnovers, and their transition offense converted those mistakes into easy points. The second quarter was more of the same: Jounieh outscored Al Rayyan 28-20 to take a commanding 58-38 lead into halftime.

The third quarter brought no relief for Al Rayyan. Jounieh continued to move the ball unselfishly, finding open shooters and attacking the rim. By the end of the third, the lead had grown to 85-60. The fourth quarter was a formality, with Jounieh extending the margin to 112-78 by the final buzzer.

Key Moments

The game's decisive stretch came in the first half. After Al Rayyan scored the opening basket, Jounieh responded with a 12-0 run that set the tone. Their full-court pressure disrupted Al Rayyan's rhythm, leading to several steals and fast-break layups. A buzzer-beating three-pointer before halftime pushed the lead to 20 and effectively ended the contest.

In the second half, Jounieh's bench players saw extended minutes and maintained the intensity. They continued to push the pace, and a series of three-pointers in the third quarter turned the game into a rout. Al Rayyan never found an answer for Jounieh's balanced attack.

Tactical Story

Jounieh's game plan was built on pressure and pace. They defended full court, trapped ball handlers, and rotated quickly to close passing lanes. That aggression produced a high number of turnovers and easy baskets. On offense, they shared the ball exceptionally well, finishing with six players in double figures and recording over 25 assists.

Al Rayyan struggled against the pressure. Their half-court offense was stagnant at times, relying on isolation plays and contested jumpers. They found some success inside early in the second half, but Jounieh's defensive adjustments and rebounding dominance quickly snuffed out any hope of a comeback.

Standout Performances

• Jounieh's backcourt: Combined for 42 points and 15 assists, controlling every phase of the game.
• Jounieh's forward: Posted 20 points and 9 rebounds, dominating the glass.
• Jounieh's bench: Added 38 points, highlighting the team's depth.
• Al Rayyan's guard: Led his team with 20 points but needed 18 shots to get there.
• Al Rayyan's center: Finished with 14 points and 8 rebounds in a losing effort.

Tournament Impact

The victory strengthens Club Central Jounieh's position in the Arab Nations Cup and sends a clear message to the rest of the field. Their combination of defensive pressure, three-point shooting, and bench production makes them a dangerous opponent in knockout play. For Al Rayyan, the loss is a tough lesson, but they will need to regroup quickly if they hope to advance. Jounieh's 112-point outburst and 34-point margin will be remembered as one of the tournament's defining performances.
