MC Alger Women produced a commanding defensive display to defeat USA Batna Women 68-39 in the Algeria National A Women's league on Saturday. The 29-point win was built on a suffocating defensive effort that held the hosts to just 39 points, one of the lowest totals of the round, and underlined MC Alger's credentials as one of the competition's leading sides.

Match Overview

From the opening minutes, MC Alger imposed their defensive identity on the game. Their half-court pressure forced Batna into difficult, late-clock shots, and the hosts' offensive rhythm never materialised. At the other end, MC Alger were patient and efficient, slowly building a lead that grew steadily quarter by quarter rather than arriving all at once.

USA Batna competed hard and never stopped working, but the gap in execution was clear. The final score of 68-39 reflected a game that MC Alger controlled from start to finish.

Key Moments

• Defensive tone-setting: MC Alger opened with a series of stops that immediately put Batna behind the shot clock, forcing turnovers and contested attempts.
• Second-quarter separation: A steady run before halftime extended the lead into double digits and gave the visitors firm control.
• Closing control: MC Alger managed the final period calmly, rotating their bench while maintaining defensive discipline and protecting the lead.

Tactical Story

MC Alger's game plan was built on defensive integrity. They switched effectively on screens, closed out hard on shooters and denied easy entry passes into the post, forcing USA Batna into a high volume of low-percentage attempts. Rebounding was also decisive — MC Alger controlled the defensive glass, limiting second-chance opportunities and triggering their own fast breaks.

Offensively, the visitors leaned on balanced scoring and intelligent shot selection. They attacked the basket when lanes appeared and kicked out for open perimeter looks when Batna collapsed, keeping the hosts guessing throughout.

Standout Performers

MC Alger's forwards were influential at both ends, finishing inside and anchoring the defensive effort on the boards. Their guards controlled the tempo, committing few turnovers and repeatedly finding the right pass in traffic. For USA Batna, the standout contributions came from players who continued to battle on the glass and attack the rim despite the scoreline.

Season Impact

Results like this shape a season. MC Alger strengthen their position in the Algeria National A Women's standings and send a clear message about their defensive capability, while USA Batna are left to review an outing in which scoring droughts proved costly. The challenge now for the hosts is to find more offensive fluidity before their next fixture.
