How the game was won

HD Marines W controlled the boards and limited USA Batna’s second-chance points, which proved crucial in a low-scoring contest. Their half-court defense forced Batna into difficult jump shots, while their own offense relied on balanced contributions rather than a single dominant scorer. The third-quarter surge, sparked by transition baskets and aggressive drives, gave the visitors enough cushion to withstand Batna’s late attempts to rally.

Standout performers

Farida Ziani led HD Marines W with 17 points and was instrumental in the third-quarter run. Mounia Saadi added 14 points, while Lila Hamdi chipped in 11 points and helped control the tempo from the guard position. For USA Batna Women, Khadija Larbi scored a team-high 15 points and Nour Belkacem added 12, but the hosts struggled to find consistent scoring support around them.

What the result means

The win gives HD Marines W an important road result and valuable momentum in the Algeria National A Women standings. Their balanced attack and defensive consistency make them a difficult team to prepare for, especially when their guards are controlling the pace. USA Batna Women remain competitive but will need to improve their shooting efficiency and rebounding in key moments if they are to turn close games into victories later in the season.
