Zlatibor delivered one of their most convincing performances of the Adriatic Basketball D2 season on Wednesday night, powering past Zivinice 99-80 in front of a loud home crowd. The hosts never trailed after the opening minutes, controlling the tempo from the first quarter and turning a competitive early exchange into a comfortable, double-digit victory that underlines their credentials in the second tier of regional basketball.

Match Overview

The game finished 99-80 in favour of Zlatibor, a result built on balanced scoring, sharp ball movement and a defensive effort that forced Zivinice into a long evening of difficult shots. The home side reached the 99-point mark with time still on the clock, a rarity at this level and a clear sign of how efficiently they attacked in transition.

• Final score: Zlatibor 99 – 80 Zivinice
• Competition: Adriatic Basketball D2
• Quarter scores: 26-18, 24-20, 27-22, 22-20
• Biggest lead: 24 points in the fourth quarter

How the Game Unfolded

Zlatibor set the tone immediately, opening with a 26-18 first quarter that rewarded aggressive penetration and quick kick-outs to the perimeter. Zivinice responded with a better second period, keeping the deficit within reach at 50-38 by half-time, but they were never able to string together the defensive stops required to make it a genuine contest.

The decisive stretch came early in the third quarter. A 12-2 run within the first four minutes pushed the margin past twenty points, and from there Zlatibor managed the game expertly — slowing the pace when needed, attacking the rim when Zivinice over-extended, and rotating their bench without any drop in intensity.

Key Moments

The momentum swung for good midway through the third, when a steal at half court turned into an easy fast-break dunk that brought the home bench to its feet. Zivinice called timeout, but the pattern held: every time the visitors trimmed the gap to fourteen or fifteen points, Zlatibor answered with a three-pointer or a trip to the free-throw line.

The fourth quarter became a procession. Zlatibor's reserves got meaningful minutes, and the home side still outscored their opponents 22-20 in the final ten minutes — a statistic that says as much about their depth as their starters.

Tactical Story

Zlatibor's game plan was built around inside-out basketball. Their big men established deep position early, drawing double teams that opened up clean looks from beyond the arc. The result was a shooting night that punished Zivinice from multiple areas of the floor and made defensive adjustments almost impossible.

Defensively, the hosts switched aggressively on screens and forced Zivinice into contested mid-range jumpers — statistically the least efficient shot in modern basketball. Zivinice's half-court offence stalled repeatedly, and their transition game never got going because Zlatibor controlled the defensive rebound.

Standout Players

• Petar Vuković led all scorers with 24 points, adding 7 rebounds and 4 assists in a complete all-round display.
• Lazar Milošević contributed 18 points, including four three-pointers, stretching the Zivinice defence throughout.
• Stefan Jovanović anchored the paint with 14 points, 10 rebounds and 3 blocks.
• For Zivinice, Emir Hadžić fought hard for 19 points and 8 rebounds, while Amar Begić added 15.

Season Impact

The win strengthens Zlatibor's position in the upper half of the Adriatic Basketball D2 standings and adds valuable points to their home record, which is becoming one of the toughest in the league to break. For Zivinice, the defeat is a reminder of the gap that still exists between them and the division's leading sides, particularly on the road, where their defensive numbers have been noticeably softer.

Zlatibor will look to carry this scoring form into their next fixture, while Zivinice return home needing a response — and fast — if they are to stay in touch with the playoff conversation.
